Trash in New New York

Maybe this has been mentioned before... I dunno... But I haven't seen it here yet. So sorry if it has.

But in episode 3 (I, roommate) Bender and Fry make a tonne of trash in their new apartment with the beer cans. But then later in episode 8 (A big piece of garbage) noone seems to know what trash is really and just throwing a beer can on the floor is completely new to Bender. What gives?

All of that trash was later recycled. You just didn't see it.

No my point is noone knows how to litter (besides Fry)...but in I, roommate they are littering, so it makes no sense.

They may throw it on the ground of the apartment, but it's going to be recycled eventually.

They, in that kind of expensive apartment, they probably have baby robots come out and sweep up. Like at the Blurnsball game in "fear of the bot planet".

fry knows how to litter. since bender is his friend they have probaly learned alot from each other. so, fry and bender are the last holder of that ancient knowledge. of course fry is much more efficient, cause his more trained.
