William Woo is a friend of Lew Morton, the writer for Mother's Day (according to the commentary). He may not have been signed for the team during the time elapsed between FOABP and MD.
Also, how do you know that GZDJLYD isn't pronounced 'Miller' in whatever language it is? [Fry] Swish! [/Fry]

OK, wait. I just watched the bit. The guy on the spider is a relief pitcher. I dunno why he leaves the bullpen on a spider, but presumably the starting pitcher got pulled when he allowed Qzdjlyd to hit that multi-ball blern. Anyone else notice that Qzdjlyd looked like a pituitary giant? Anyway, I assume Qzdjlyd is pronounced "Miller," because Leela is making a note on the "Qzdjlyd" line on the scorecard when she says "Miller's on a pace to hit 70 blerns." By the way, this is a joke because this episode was produced the season Mark McGwire hit 70 home runs, and every day on the news during the season they showed his extrapolated season total based on his per-game pace.
As for my theory that Woo is a pinch hitter, that's a no go, because Bender catches him on the first inning, in fact immediately after the first shot of the scorecard, without his name on it. I can only assume it's a different guy who happens to look a lot like Woo.
