The price of gas dropped a lot though, you can see that when Leela is pumping gas in Parasites Lost. A gallon must be about a nickle.

"Repeat to yourself 'It's just a show, I should really just relax!'" is meant to mean if it's a flaw, something forgotten, something you dislike then you shouldn't argue over small things and take it for the show that it is. It does NOT mean take all your enthusiasm for the show and dump it down the torlet. As I believe this forum was not intended for mistakes and slipups, but weird intended scenes in the show. So don't ever backtalk that piece of lyric ever again.
You are welcome for this piece of knowledge I have just dropped upon you.

Well I don't think they would've had inflation for a thousand years, cause the world was nearly demolished twice. So when the cities were rebuilt they had to start with such low prices since there wasn't enough currency being made.
ahem "you should repeat to yourself it's just a show, I should really just re-lax! On Mysteryyyy Science Theaterrrr three thousssanddd!" *Bows and takes applause*

hehe, that was also the time where you had to calculate the time it takes you to go to the bakery and wait in line into the price people changed to a new currency back then: "cigarettes"
