Hi, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but in "bender gets made" when he is talking to Tinny Tim at the oil-ade stand you can see the masked unit in the background!
Ok, its not really that amazing but i wondered if I was a. right b. hallucinating or c. going blind
can someone tell me please?

There's actually an animation goof in that very same scene, although it might've been mentioned before, where Bender drinks that oil-aid (or whatever it is) but in the next shot the glass is full again.

I think The Masked Untit also appears in 'Crimes of the Hot' too, at the robot party  :)

It's so great, all these tiny details. Also in the opening sequence... all those characters flying through those transportation tubes... Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan, Kif, Hermes, Amy, that cop...  :D

The Masked Unit fell down and switched off but he was never completely destroyed or anything so there is no reason why he couldn't have been fixed in time for BGM. In fact, in the same episode The Clear Cutter's head exploded and he was back to normal a few minutes later, this sort of thing is probably built into Ultimate Robot Fighters.

That full glass thing... That reminds me of commercials. When people drink stuff in commercials, there is often a cut when they put the glass down. After the cut it will probably be full again (at least in Denmark)

I think the most blatant example of the glass thing is in The Cyber House Rules when Amy drops her wine glass, which breaks, and is seen in a couple of shots time holding a full glass again.

RE: Broken wine glass
Ref: "The Cryonic Woman" - Reforming glasses exist in future.

Also, she could have just, you know, picked up another glass. Unless that technology was lost in the 1000 year gap.

I posted about the Oil-ade thingy about a month ago. Anyway,  "Raging Bender" came BEFORE this episode, and I think (and I'm sticking to this theory) that TMM (Masked Unit) was only knocked out. (I haven't seen RB in a while, so tonight I'll pop in the DVD and watch again. Edits will be made. Punch will be served.)

That's true. I mean, if Malfunctioning Eddy can be repaired after exploding a countless number of times, I'm sure they can revive The Masked Unit.

It's more of a practical reason than that though - it's not realistic to ask the layout artists to redesign a whole new set of robots for each episode so that you don't ever see a repeat.  In Mothers Day, Insane in the Mainframe, Crimes of the Hot and pretty much any other place you need a big crowd of robots, the vast majority of them are repetitions of designs that already exist in the model pack.

Commentary for Mother's Day

So there!
