Something Calculon said in 'The Devils Hands' hit me as odd today. Giving TRD his ears, he says "You gave me this unholy acting talent."  :evillaugh: But Calculon has lived for 100's of years. Is it conceivable The Robot Devil started out as something similarily proto? Like That Fortune Telling Novelty Kirk got hooked on doing a stint in The Twilight Zone. Yes, I'm sure he could have meant, 'He gave me the talent recently.'

Maybe Calculon wasn't a very good actor until recently, once he met the Robot Devil.

Well, it couldn't have been THAT recent, as in The Honking he said he was all the great acting robots.

yes, but then he contradicted himself, when he named David Duchovny as one of them   ;)

I'm pretty sure that was a joke at David Duchovny's acting, but still - notice how he was the last person Calculon named, then he got interupted. He might have been saying "David Duchovny-bot" or something, only they interupted him before he said the "bot" part. I dunno, I'm just trying to come up with an explanation...

David Duchovny is NOT a great actor. I think Calculon got his REAL acting power after he made the deal with devil.

Maybe Calculon was just braggin about who he was, maybe those other acting units werent so great.

Or maybe they were just cheap puns at david duchovney and his robot-like acting.

That brings up an interesting question-- who built the Robot Devil??

Although, the Robot Devil has probably always existed in his current form, similar to how the Christian Devil always existed as he does even when humans had little technology.

In other words, "it just is."  :D

The Robot Devil was probably made along side Preacherbot, in order to enforce the ways of Robotology.
And about Calculon, he was probably a decent actor before the Robot Devil, but then he became an awesome actor, and got the show "All My Circuits" when the Robot Devil gave him his unhloy acting talent.
And how would we know for sure?  Remember, Calculon upgrades his appearance every few hundred years.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking atticus, but hoping for a more interesting explanation.

Makes you think about Robotology. We know their prophets are robots, but if the devil and preacher bots were made around the same time, would the creators of both, (Farnsworth, MOM?) be considered God in  that religion? Anyone know if they mentioned the name of the GOd, or was it all sin and damnation?

I just wanna throw in my two cents:  Since Calculon changes his appearance every few decades to avoid suspision, maybe Beezlebot had reapplied the lost acting talent to Calculon.
