Sardines... Are They Really Extinct?

You may recall that in "A Fishfull of Dollars" Fry bought the last remaining can of sardines, as they went extinct because of Zoidberg's race.

I just finished watching "The Deep South" again, and for bait, Hermes had a pail of sardines, and Zoidberg ate some and said that they were too salty or something like that.

What gives?

What my Belgian friend here means to say is anchovies, hehe 

It was anchovies that went extinct, not sardines. I thought it was a mistake at first too, but then I thought about it..

Personally I would hate anchovies... but the way Fry was describing them... Mmmm.. they sounded so good. All salty and oily... Mmmm, but then they turn out to be disgusting. Ugh.
