I heard Bart was a J from a fansite... somewhere. I don`t know. If I come across it I`ll prove it.

Yeah, Marissa's right! Bartholomew J. Simpson. When the voice of Bart (I forget her name) got tired of being asked what the J stood for, she came up with "Jo-Jo" kinda as a joke. And of course we know that Homer's middle name is "Jay". Hmm what is Matt Groening's obsession with J as a middle initial? VERY good question, as I was just thinking about that a few days ago..

So Bart is a "J" except we don't know what it stands for, correct?

Well I think the name "Jo-Jo" started out as a joke but later became Bart's official middle name. It's just probably never going to be confirmed on the show..

Yes, bart's middle initial is a "J".  On a Simpsons CD (I forget which one - it has a red cover), one song features bart rapping.  He says,

Quote
"My name is Simpsons, Bartholemew J."
[/b][/i]

I'd be interested to find out just what this "J" conspiracy is all about...

Oops, sorry about that.  I went to post the message and it said "Flood Control" was activated, so I had to re-post it in 60 seconds, but I guess it posted it anyways.  And it's "Simpson", not "Simpsons" as I said in my last post.  Stupid me.

but it isn't just the characters in our favourite tv shows that have J in their name - it is the fans aswell. There is Jason of CGEF, Jason of PR, John of TSAF, myself... it think the world has an obsession with the letter, and words beginning with J.

My middle name is Dawn, but I`m not sure if it can be counted as a middle name, it`s hyphenated, "Marissa-Dawn". Marissa is a prefix meaning 'of or from the sea', and Dawn is.... dawn. So... if Marissa is a prefix, than that would mean my real name is Dawn! I have a very very confusing name :P

My (first - I have 2 middle names) middle initial is J and my name initial is J (my real name is Juha). Also jwso's (his real name is Juuso if someone cares)... hey, you know him, right? Waaahh.... I'm tired or something.

I don't want to make this conversation boring, but J is a quite usual initial.  :(

What I meant is that it's no mystery that everybody's middle initial is J. But the Futurama & Simpsons part of that is cool.... why did Groening make 'em all Something J. Somethings???

Bart's middle name is Jo-Jo.  I saw that on some early FOX promo cards or something back in the first season or two of the Simpsons.

Of course, Bart himself has given us many aspects of his middle name. Such as Jillionaire, Jenuine, Jestation, Junior Bonehead, and of course, Jenius.

Matt made Homer's and Fry's middle name Jay to give tribute to Jay Ward from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle show. That's all I know, but I know it's true.
