Why did Bender want his old job back?  Scaring humans, making love to the Probulator, he seemed to be having a blast.

Why didn't Leela check to make sure which chip was which?

How did Bender get the arm of the Norwegian prime minister?

What if Pauly Shore really was a genius?

I can answer the Norweigian President's arm question. Zoidbergs probably got a lot of them lying around.  :)

One thing... In "Space Pilot 3000" we see Leela throw her chip on the ground down in old-new york. When does she pick this up again???

And bye the way, when you mention it. I'm norwegian, and i think i saw the prime-minister arm-less. I may be wrong though!

Fry Fry, the thing is that Anchovies are extinct in the year 3000, and Fry buys some more for $50,000,000, and Zoidberg eats them all and goes mental over them, because it was actually his race that eliminated them from the universe.

The thing about sardines, that ain't anything. It's just that people get confused.

I think most people would do the same if they found out they had 4.3 billion

At least I would.

Me too.

It's weird because even though Anchovies are extinct after Zoidberg eats them they reappear in Deep south as bait, a bit weird eh.

Nobody's ooffered a plausible explaination . . .

Come to think of it, why would Fry want his old job back?

Imagine the impact it would have had on the series! we would lose close contact between Fry, leela, Prof. and the rest of the crew.. so it had to go back to the way it was

i love that episode  and how at the end fry puts all the anchovies on a pizza, gets everyone to try it, and they all hate it, except for zoidy, who goes insane with hunger, as it was his species that killed all the anchovies... hahaha

How can you be sure that that rule applies in the Furturama universe?
In "When Aliens Attack" New New York didn't go back to the way it was.. as stated in the "Law"

But in the little we saw of NNYC in "Fry and the Slurm Factory," the very next ep, the city seemed to be fine.

Thats not the point the law states.. And i quote.. "At the end of the episode, Everything is right back to normal"

May I point out "AT THE END OF THE EPISODE" so in fact it doesn't matter what it looks liek in the next episode.. for all we know the wizard fix it the next day..

My point remains.. That rule doesnt apply to "When Aliens Attack" [well i think that was my original point, whatever its my point know!]

I'd like to think that humor is more important than stupid "laws of TV"

if you think about it things don't always go back to the way they were before.....

if they really did, wouldn't fry be in the year 2000(s), leela wouldnt know that he liked her, etc?

The first ep didnt count in this law.. For some odd reason...

The only ep that didnt follow this law that i can remember
"When aliens Attack"

and no i thikn consistency in a show or whatever is more important then humor..

I like the comedy. but a show consistency is annoying..

Think about, if it was funny for fry all of a sudden to marry Zoidberg and have operations to become a female lobster, you owuld think the show is stupid, and not funny

Straw man. There's a difference bteween this kind of ridiculous, absurd situation, and a throwaway gag at the end of a show that's there as a satirical comment on the nature of TV.

That is about the funniest thing I've heard all day.  That should be a live action sitcom.

Anyway I agree with Kryten.  I'd like to think that *some* people are smart enough to know that there are "laws of television" and then there are "laws of television- haha".  I mean obviously there has to be some basic rules and assumptions that are stuck to to at least some degree, but there is also a suspension of disbelief (especially in a scifi cartoon) that allows for a lot of extra humor

Can I supersize that order?
Anyway, I agree that there is a need for continuity, but there is also a need for off-the-wall zaniness.  If the breach of continuity is only for a sight gag, or a brief scene that doesn't affect the show's "integrity," more power to 'em.  But if it's major and completely changes the course of the episode/series (i.e. most of Bendin' in the Wind), then I have problems with it.  Besides, it's the 31st century, who says they can't rebuild a city in a week's time?

going back to the original questions.
bender went  back cos fry went back, remember bender likes fry so much he cut his aerial off, and to avoid any more argument , fry went back cos he wants to get in leela's pants.
the whole mystery surrounding the norwegian primeministers arm is the point of the gag, its supposed to make you think 'how the hell did he get it'
