Apologies if someone already posted this months ago, I did a search and found nothing.

I just understood something that's been bothering me for over a year now.  In "A Leela of Her Own," Hank Aaron XXIV (I think that's right) wears the uniform of the Atlanta Braves.  But something is subtly different.  The current (baseball) Atlanta Braves logo is a tomahawk, but Hank's uniform has a trident on it.  I never got this, but now it just clicked.  Atlanta is under the sea in the future, and populated by mer-people.  Trident... Neptune... Mer-people...

Though I don't recall seeing too many tridents in "The Deep South."

What's always bugged me is that Matt Greoning says he's a huge Frank Zappa fan.  But Zappa hated, Hated HATED Donavan, and made fun of his Atlantis song on multiple ocasions (See the album Tinsel Town Rebellion for just one example).  So whoy would MG allow Donovan on his show to sing the "Atlanta" parody?

(Yeah, I know, I'm being unfair.  I'm a HARD-CORE Zappa fan.)

Apparently David Cohen is a huge Donovan fan, plus the possibility for a parody is too good to give up.

@canned eggs: Rich Moore will love you for life. He mentioned that exact thing on the audio commentaries to "A Leela Of Her Own". Even David Cohen didn't notice it until then. Good job.

Because it's a parody.  And Zappa's not the boss of MG.  Though he does rule.

Why does it hurt when I pee?

Ah, I see.

I just hope John Rocker drowned when the city sunk into the ocean.

All power to Donovan for agreeing to parody his own song. Unless he was just too stupid to realise, the mellow, yellow bastard ...
