In "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles," she says that the PE ship can go up to 99% light speed, presumably abiding the laws of physics that you could not go at light speed due to a bunch of quantum stuff that I can't remember. Anyway, it takes light about three days for light to travel from the sun to the earth, but they could go in about 5 minutes. Our closest star, aside from the sun, is Alpha Centauri. Light takes six million years to travel from Alpha Centauri to Earth. But they can go much farther than that in a couple of hours...
