ever notice that alot of times in the show, you only see leela's profile, so she looks normal? they seem to do that alot in the show, sometimes they even show fry the same way next to leela, so they both seem to look normal.

just wondering if anyone ever noticed....

Yes, sometimes they show her so it looks as if her nose somehow goes through the middle of her eye, the way that two-eyed people's noses go between their eyes.  I think her nose is just supposed to stop before it gets to her eye, but sometimes they draw a bit too much.  Consider:

I think that happens mostly in older episodes; they probably realized it looked odd and stopped drawing exact profiles of her.

I noticed that quite early, but I think the animators did that because otherwise Leela would look really strange...

In the audio commentaries, the animators comment on Leela's eye. Since noone had drawn a cyclops as a major charater in a show before, they had to start from the bottom and learn the trade as they went by. In the first seasons they used a lot of tricks (or "cheat" as Cohen labelled it). Leela's hair, the angle she was drawn in , etc. As they got more confident the cheats became less dominant.

I, too saw Parasites Lost last night, but noticed they did the same thing a couple times with her nose and eye like in the picture up above. I couldn't tell you exactly where and when, though, I'd have to go back and look at the tape.
