In the latest episode we saw (once again) what happens to robots if they don't drink enough alcohol...

But in "Hell is other robots" , the robot priest and this whole religion thing forbid bender to drink alcohol (e.g. "Drinking wine is a sin")

so all the robots wich are in this religion would have to be "not-drunk" ehh... would not funktion any more....

other confusing thing: the same priest gives alcohol to the homeless robots in the christmas episode....

can anyone explain this to me?

I'd guess the "mineral oil" that Bender was drinking in that episode was a good substitute for alcohol.

Or, we could blame you-know-who with the pointy hat...

TWO!

Or too little. Anyway, however much he drank, it wasn't exactly the right amount.

Yeah, but it explains a lot... maybe there's a maximum he can handle without overloading himself or something?

You could be right Kryten.  In "Hell Is Other Robots" he tells Fender he's gonna drink 'till he reboots.

Ha! I'm right about something, and I didn't have to invoke the wizard!

I agree to your statement that robots are not drunk but their are robots that drunks to become have a function.

Futuramafanboy you're bumping a lot of old threads that have posts of mine from ten years ago futurefreak. And it's creeping me out!

I don't even think I originally read this topic. He does bring up an interesting point. How come we never see Bender acting the human equivalent of drunk when he hasn't been drinking? I think there's something in that vat Bender was baptized in that might have altered his circuitry. Or it could have been the religious piece on his body. Or like someone else said, mineral oil as a substitute. I often wonder in scenarios like these if the solution lies in a "missing scene" that you didn't see, because it doesn't exist or it got cut. Wow, the writers could explain EVERYTHING with that synopsis!

Mineral oil is apparently much more efficient at powering robots than alcoholic human beverages, meaning that Bender doesn't have to drink as much of it in order to power himself.

other confusing thing: the same priest gives alcohol to the homeless robots in the christmas episode....

There are three things that Robo-Baptists don't acknowledge: The authority of the Space Pope, the sanctity of the Cyber-Eucharist, and each other in a liquor store. :p
