Is anyone else as completely surprised as me, that in a show which borrows SO shamelessly from Star Trek, and considering Bender has called them everything from Skin Tube to Flesh Wad...
That Bender has never called someone an "Ugly Bag of Mostly Water"???

Where's the weird scene?
Of course it borrows from star trek, it borrows from lots of popular sci-fi, its a satirical look on sci-fi, that's the point

someone close this...

Bender is probably a lot less analytical and logic than the Velaran microbrains, plus his grammar is a lot better. To put in that line would make it seem very forced, IMO.

Besides we all know that Bender measures Fry's worth in booze-content, not water.

-OR!-

They're are 100 million reference's/homages to Star Trek in Futurama, but a lot of those things only fans of ST would notice, and therefore, put in only for them. 'Skin tube' and 'flesh wad' can be taken by a non-st fan as nothing, but if Bender called someone an 'Ugly Bag of Mostly Water' it would just be wrong, forced and cheap, to Trekkies and Human's (  :laff: ) alike.

Anyway, the TNG episode that line came from - "Home Soil" - is a pretty unmemorable episode.  Not many people would realise where the line came from.

I LOVE that line.
I go around calling people that all the time...

It really is a good description for a human, though....

I would!    :laff:

Besides, "Ugly bags of mostly water" isn't an insult, but rather an apropriate description of a human being from the viwepoint of an crystaline being. BAM!

I would like to hear it from Bender, though. He should make a long insult every once every while.

It sure would sound really obvious that he was borrowing it from something, but look at how much stuff is CLEARLY ripped (in a good way) from ST and SW.  The light sabers, the door sounds, the tricorder noise on a cell phone, the sounds the cars make (Jetsons?)...
This would be a joke that would make the ST fans laugh heartily and everyone else laugh out of confusion
