In the first segment of AOI1, Bender says:
"I'm a big robot, and I want a big cereal!" To which Fry replies, "You too?"

What is this a reference to? I'm guessing a cereal was advertised in America with a big hungry robot. Am I right?

The word is cereal. And it's a take on an old commercial for Honeycombs.

But let's turn the word over to our resident Amyholic:

And the kids would offer him Honeycombs, which is big (yeah yeah yeah)and not small (no no no), and all would be well...
