Episode: 409 - Futureshock

At the first shareholders meeting when "that guy" is voted in as the new ceo, we see that the vote is 5,000 to 5,001.. what perplexes me is why they; amy, leela, bender, hermes, or the professor didnt get zoidberg to use his shares/votes to maintain the professor as ceo..

bender (1), amy (2), leela (3), hermes (4), & the professor (5) all have 10,000 shares, which equeals 50,000 votes.. all for the professor..

fry has 10,000 shares, scruffy has 40,000, and the "cajigger" lady has 1.. equaling 50,001..

even if zoidberg only  had 1 share he would have made it a tie, in which case the professor as current ceo would remain ceo according to what hermes said..

And as we all know zoidberg owned 51% of the company, giving him more shares than the lot put together, meaning somewhere around 102,000 shares.

Well, Zoidy wasn't there when the time came to vote. If you're not around when the time come, you don't get to vote. Simple as that. Otherwise people would be running in and out of shareholder meetings, fetching people to break the tie. Of the shares present when the proposal came up, the majority voted for That Guy.

Also, when did PE become a public company anyway? In SP3K it was a private ccompany, solely owned by Farnsie. And why is it on the stock exchange? With only 1 free share (Hattie's) what's the point?

Are you sure Zoidberg wasn't back in time to vote?  Fry certainly was.  (It's been a while and I don't feel like finding out myself)

See, it's these problems as to why that episode wasn't top-half for me.  Too many inconsistancies and problems.

couldnt they just as easily solved the "that guy" problem by having calling a new share holders meeting, proposing a new vote, and have the professor win his ceo title back?

i mean, hell all they would have to do is act nice to zoidberg for a minutes or offer him a bucket full of fish heads..

hell, hermes and leela should have been smart enough for figure that one out.. i'll let the professor off the hook since he's senile, zoidberg because he's concerned with food, and amy because she's dumb.. but c'maaaaan.

this is a glaring mistake..
