so i was just watching season 3 episode 7 "the day the earth stood stupid"..

when nibbler runs away to get his spaceship and he saves leela, her hair gets caught in the lid of nibblers space craft.. it is also seen later in when nibbler transmits his thoughts to leela's mind and they carry on a conversation.. but after fry discovers that everyone has become stupid and they come up with stupid idea's they go back to a shot of nibbler & leela in the craft approaching planet eternuimm... but what you'll notice is that leela's hair is no longer caught under the lid.. i dont think she could have pulled it in because there wasnt much room to move anything and it was air tight (indicated by freshness seal sound when nibbler closed it).. and i dont think he could have opened it mid flight because they would have both surely died..

kind of picky.. but hey, it still counts =)

Maybe she ripped/cut it off (ouch!), or maybe they made a quick diversion to a planetary atmosphere so they could quickly open and shut the roof.

But most likely it was the "Wizard" what done it  :p

Welcome to PEEL BTW  :D

Well Leela was in the craft by herself at that point, so the room that was occupied by Nibbler was now occupied by her hair.

Plus wouldn't the air tight seal have cut the end of her hair off anyway?

Welcome to PEEL. Have fun. And yes that is damn picky.  :p

zed85..

well she couldnt have ripped/cut it because it was the end of her pony tail that it that was caught, and she still had later on when she arrived at planet eternium.. and i strongly doubt they would have stopped by a planet just to get her hair uncaught.. i'm guessing it was just the "Wizard" what done it..

zed & archie, thanks for the welcome..

It's a cartoon, remember? It's even a Sci-fi one, thus these things are possible. Besides, it looked funny. SILENCE!

They stopped off at planet eternium. She could've unstuck her hair at that point. Plus she was seen on the Nibblonians spaceship, unless you're thinking of something different to me.

Spacecrafts in Futurama sometimes appear to have a "field" of gas around them. Take for instance the escape pod in "A Flight to Remember". The Pod doesnt have an airlock, yet Bender manages to open the pod door and get into it mid flight without sucking the air out and killing those inside.

Prehaps Nibbler's ship has a similar gas field.

Or a Wizard?

Plus, note that her hair is moving in the space... so there is an air stream arround the fighter. So we could provide technical explanation saying that the niblonian fighter creates a bubble of compresion air arround ship, like the ejection seats from StarWars.

the another and more probable explanation is that a Wizzard made air moving arround Nibbler`s fighter.

Not their fault that they're the eighth son of an eighth son of an eighth son.
