In the second season episode in wich Bender inherits a mansion from his uncle, a bloody binary number appears on a wall in front of a mirror; the number is 0101100101 (Bah! Random numbers, sais Bender), but when the number is seen in the mirror is 1010011010 and Bender run away. Binary number 1010011010 is 666 decimal number, jejeje...  :flirt:   :flirt:   :flirt:

Welcome at PEEL Fry_Solo, I hope you'll like it here    :)

you're right, Bender's scared about a binary 666. And that's not the only reference to the binary system.
I remember "A head in the polls", when Bender had a nightmare full of 0s and 1s ... and also a 2 !        :D

Like Chump said, kinda old news here, but good observation nonetheless.

For more binary fun, try taking a look at Benders apartment number in "I, Roommate" and combine that with the ASCII chart.  ;)

Welcome to PEEL, Fry_Solo. Enjoy it here.

and then ... ?
An ASCII is a picture basing just on letters, numbers and some signs, right?
But what is the big fun with Benders apartment number and the ASCII chart???

ASCII is a computer standard. Since computers only understand numbers, ASCII codes was invented to represent all the various characters and actions. For exmaple; A has ASCII code 65, a has ASCII code 97, "space" is ASCII code 32, 4 is ASCII code 52, etc.

Bender's apartment number is 00100100 in binary, that's 36 in decimal. Looking at the ASCII table we see 36 is code for "$", sp Bender lives in apartment $.

See the original thread here.

Una vez eliminado todo lo que es imposible, la verdad está en lo que queda, por improbable que parezca.

"Eliminating all is completely impossible. The truth is where you find it, though it seems improbable."?

Something like that? I'm too lazy to doublecheck.

Sounds a lot like a famous Sherlock Holmes quote: "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

That's probably what it really means. You know, 'a saying' sometimes doesn't translate straight into English. I just attempted a literal translation. Go C+ Spanish Student!

That would be "Once you eliminate the logical, whatever remains is illogical, and can be discarded, Captain".

Yeah, I know. Just struck me, since that Holmes quote is one of my favorite. Only Spanish I know is "una cerveza", go tourist Spanish!  :D

Maybe Spock said it (I'm sure Data did too), but Sherlock Holmes used the phrase first in the story "The Beryl Coronet".

Yes! A quote from Sir Arthur Conan Doile (written like that?) in Sherlock Holmes.

Well, I posted that because I didn't see anything for the second season at the web, so...

Thank you for all the welcomes and go on talking about Futurama  ;) Ah! A question... Why Futurama has been cancelled in USA??  :(
