Last night at 2 AM, I was writing furiously on matters of science and physics, and such, developing theories on gravity and the transference there-of, when my mind lept to space, then Futurama, then the PE ship. (Several of the diagrams of space include the PE ship as examples) and I thought about when the ship was given a personality. It had similar results to the Simpsons when the house was given a personality (Pierce, on the halloween special). How are they similar?

They both were given celebrity voices.
Both celebrities were famed for action roles.
They both fell in love with a member of the family/crew.
They both became obsessed.
They both went nuts.
They both tried to kill off other members of the family/crew.

Thoughts?

Makes sense.  They were created by the same guy.

Also, both have red "eye"s and have adjustable voices - in their respective episodes of course.

Both episodes were pretty boring, too.. Well, the Fry/Leela bit of 'Love And Rocket' was great, but I can't say I really enjoyed the Bender/PE ship romance.

I think the red eye thing was more of parodying the same source, 2001

Its just like the house that fell in love with Marge. Thats what I imediantly thought, too, even though I haven't seen Love and Rocket yet. The red eye and the view seen through it is the about the same.

They were both parodies of Hal from 2001.
