Hi people, I would have put this in my "deleted scenes in the UK" thread from ages ago but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I was watching "Why must I be a Crustatean in Love?" last night and I'm sure that they cut something out just before Zoidberg says "There's my old scuttling ground" (or something like that). And they may have cut something at the end where he says "The frenzy is over!"

Can anyone help?

Does any of this sound familiar?

Zoidberg: Now how am I supposed to get rid of my male jelly?

Fry: (handing him his severed arm): I'll lend you this.

If not, that's what was cut.

Or maybe it could be this line:

Fry: You mean you have to choose between a life without sex and a gruesome death....Tough call!

Homer: "Good show, guys. Now its time for the easiest part of any censor's job. The cuts. Although I wasn't able to cut all I wanted to, I have cut a lot of it. Sex is cut. Nudity is cut. Violence, you're gone. Swearing, I like your hussle [Swearing smiles]. Thats why it was so hard to cut you [Swearing's smile drops]. Congratulations, the rest of you made the show!
[random sighs of relief] Except you, you and you.
 You're cut."

I watched the episode again today. After Zoidberg cut off Fry's arm, Fry says "I'll kill you! You-!" Does he say "Bastard" or something else that the C4 censors find rude after this 'cos it looked like it!

The irony is that when Channel Four started it got a reputation for showing films that would never have been aired before due to their "adult" content.

It's kinda strange of them to cut the word 'bastard' because this took place when Fry's arm got cut off, and that's one of Futurama's more violent scenes.

The FOX Censor at the beginning of TreeHouse of Horror VIII was probably based on the C4 censor.
Great editing Teral!

Saw the German version of "Why must I be a crustatean in love". This is what I saw - all this has been cut from the Channel 4 version:

They cut out the "Crap" from Leela's "You're becoming a fat sack of crap".

They cut out a bit before Fry said "No need to pack pants people!". I haven't a clue what he said, but it did involve some arm movements which suggested sex or something!!

They cut out the whole of this part:

They only showed Zoidberg's "Ah here's my old scuttling ground!"

And this bit:

This:

This part with all the green sea foam:

Thank you and good night!

Here is the quote:

Prof.: We, by which I mean you, will have to rush him to his ancient homeworld, which will shortly erupt in an orgy of invertebrate sex.

Fry: Oh baby, I'm there!

Leela: Fry, do you even understand the word "invertebrate?"

Fry: Nope.  But that's not the word I'm interested in.  No need to pack pants people!

It`s curious that in Countryes who had a dictator in the past, like us in Spain are much more free and non-censure (South Park is not censured) than others wich claim their "freedom mind" like USA, UK, etc...

It is only censored here because of the time of day it is shown, C4 use it as a children's programme, things like South Park, also on C4, are uncut as it is shown, in an adult time slot.

South Park is broadcast at 5 PM here, as part of a children programming block, and it airs uncut. And this is on a national, tax-funded TV.

People are expected take responsibility for what their youngsters watch. So far it seems to be working pretty well.

Ohh I've just found a site which tells us most of the cuts C4 have made in S2. And I've just learned that they also cut out some scenes from Friends as well.

cencorship has almost totally ceased here in sweden. If i recall correctly, only SVT (Kanal1 and TV2) occasionally makes a minor censor in some documentaries or the like. pft, like anyone actually watches SVT these days  :p .... cept for ST:Voyager sunday nights of course. All the cool swedes watch TV3 and TV5... and those poor sods without cable/satellite, but still cool, watch TV4.

Yeah it is kinda hard but basically, if you click on an episode and read the script. The coloured bits of text are the bits that have been cut out of that particular episode  :)

Hi, I run the futurama_cuts site, so thanks to Impossible for linking to it (on a load of other boards too!).
I know it looks bad, but it's only a free Geocities site after all. (if you've got any suggestions, try signing the guestbook).

By the way, does anyone know anything about when C4 are showing season 3? The official Channel 4 website page
< http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/F/futurama/index.html  >
still says it'll start in July, but it hasn't shown any signs of beginning yet. Maybe C4 have postponed it so they'll show it at a reasonable time? Or maybe they aren't showing it at all, which is a mixed blessing really, since it wouldn't be censored anymore, but on the other hand we wouldn't get to see ANY of it.

I have a feeling that refers to July 2001, because I think that was when Season 2 started.
