If Nibbler was blanking the crews memory after he spoke then in 'Benders Game' Fry said "you forgot to bank our memory's from the last time you spoke" how would they know that Nibbler had been blanking their memory' if they had had their memory's blanked?

Little addition:
With Fry's lacking delta brainwave making him immune towards mental attacks, it doesn't seem fitting that Nibbler could have blanked his memory.
(Okay, not really a goof, of course, but imhO inconsistent enough that it should be mentioned at least once ;) )

This is an old goof that we still don't have an answer for...

Maybe it's 'cause Fry lacks the Delta Brainwave?

Maybe Fry, in an uncharacteristic fit of mental acrobatics, figured out that since Nibbler couldn't just have suddenly developed the ability to talk, there had to have been some explanation, and perhaps Nibbler had erased their memories of any previous talking shenanigans.

Also, rule of funny.

Fry's brainwave makes him immune to brain spawn attacks, but not necessarily all sorts of brain manipulation techniques. He did have a brain slug once. (Yes, it died, but that was a reference to Fry being stupid. It was able to function on his head for some time. If the delta brain wave had him completely protected, the brain slug wouldn't have been able to attach and modify his mind.)

Perhaps Nibbler didn't use the Delta Brain Wave.

well even if it Fry could remember, Leela and the professor didn't even say anything about it

I'd assumed Nibbler explained everything to them off-camera at some point during the events of BBS. That's the easy-fix.

Then why was he shocked that they knew he could speak?

Maybe Nibbler, in an uncharacteristic fit of clumsiness, blanked his own memory after explaining it to them off-screen.

Forgot that he hadn't blanked their memories. Assumed that he would have done so, especially after the crew went back to treating him like a pet. Fry said it: "You forgot to blank our memories..."

That is the more reasonable explanation, given Fry's quote. Nibbler, after all, isn't actually all-knowing. He just likes to make people think that he is.

It was just a bit of loose exposition to save from having to go through the whole "Gasp, you can TALK"-"Yeah I'm actually an intelligent being" thing all over again, since even casual viewers of the show know that by now.

Maybe it had something to do with the taste of purple Fry spoke of.

Or maybe the blanking procedure had more to do with speeding up the passage of time in Fry's mind than literally blanking a memory.

Related to this is the issue of nobody remembering Earth's encounter with the 'Brain Spawn' despite Fry's insistance.  The Delta Brain Wave resistance was only in fighting the powers of the Brain Spawn supification powers.  Even in his encounter with the Nibblonians he is quoted as saying "I remember, but nobody else does."

And Leela must have some memory of her Nibblonian encounter.  An expression of that memory could bring back Fry's memory as well...But who knows?

It may be specific to the paridigm involving the Nibblonians and Brain Spawn specifically.
