So I just watched this classic episode again for the first time in a while, and this thought only just now occurred to me.

If Fry's checked bounced for the 20th century apartment and everything in it, how come the Robo Repo guy didn't ask for the Angry Norwegian Anchovies? Something like that they almost certainly have a checklist of things they need to take back, certainly something worth $50 million.

I rewatched the scenes and the auction occurs before he gets the apartment, so one explanation could be that maybe his check cleared for the items in the auction and not for the things in the apartment. But if that's the case...where is Ted Danson's skeleton? Was that the skeleton we saw in Fry Am the Egg Man? Am I thinking too much about this? Hahaha.

It's fun to think of these things though. :)

Maybe they assumed he ate them? I know it wouldn't make much sense though as they thought Fry was some genius or something at that point :laff:...

The skeleton: I doubt it was Ted's. We've seen how common and easy it is to cause violence in the future (BLOOD?!), it could've been anyone's.

Maybe...that's a good point Otis. What would repo men do if you ate a very expensive meal you couldn't afford? Wouldn't they just make you work it off, or take a lean on your assets? Of course Fry doesn't have any assets..

Take everything he owns down to his underpants, and then make him bankrupt I guess ...

The repo men wouldn't care; they get paid the same either way, but the people to whom you owe the money would still want it back.  You'd have collection agencies after you, probably.

Lien. The word you're looking for is lien.

David A is right, too. The people you owed the cost of the meal to would treat it as a cash debt.
