Cartoon it might be, but continuity is one of my major buttons, and they pushed it!
I completely agree, the poodle is one of the main reasons I love Futurama, and I don't know if I'll ever get completely back from this. <7sarcasm>

But hey, solution! They THOUGHT the poodle was extinct, but then it was revealed it was not, but there was an entire poodle planet called Poodlus 5, where a poodle kidnapper took off in the 26th century. It was only discovered a few years back, and it was a giant news item, but it never took any place in the show. On the same planet they also found some cows and an anchiovy, and massive layers of Dark Matter.

Reset button officially pushed.

I thought, when he said the last ghost died hundreds of years ago, he was only referring to the ghosts in the castle they were staying in at the time...

I really don't think that was the intention. How would they know that the last ghost in this castle they'd never heard of had died hundreds of years ago? I just took it as a similar joke to Kent Brockman saying Leprechauns are extinct on The Simpsons.

And was I the only one who saw Mike Rowe's writing credit for this episode, then saw a joke about a ghost, and thought instantly of Gay Guy and the Ghost? Probably I was.
I think of Gay Guy and the Ghost every time ghosts come up in Futurama, Mike Rowe-related or not. But yeah, it reminde me of it too.

They seemed to know a few tidbits about the castle. I'm wondering if perhaps the lawyer gave them some info, or there was a nearby tourist information shop.

If all of the ghosts in the world were dead and there were no more ghosts anywhere, wouldn't that suggest that people don't die anymore?

My point being, his line would actually make more sense if he were referring to the ghosts in the castle.

It'd just imply that they don't come back as ghosts surely.

I think we're reading too far into a joke. Like I said, it was similar to the leprechaun line in The Simpsons. The joke is funny because ghosts don't die because they're already dead, the idea of them going extinct is funny.

I have an even more awesome explanation for why there was a Poodle. Remember at the end of Into The Wild Green Yonder when the Encyclopod was born?

At one point when the crew is talking to Animatronio, (in the room with the Neptune statue) Bender is missing his door.

I was watching Lrrreconciliable Ndndifferences today and noticed this in the background.  It looks like the back half of a partially-painted PE ship.

Yes, I am aware that this is not a goof, but I didn't think this deserved its own thread.

A bit of topic, but have we ever seen the inside of that room that curves under the balcony? Is it a room?

The room under the balcony is the Master Bedroom, under that is the Ultimate Room of Erotic Pleasure, under that is the Employee Lounge and Dr. Zoidberg's Office.

The ship rear has been there at least since Bender's Big Score.

Noticed two goofs in "The Mutants are Revolting". The first is less interesting. When Leela is dragged outside by Smitty and URL, there are flags on the building that aren't present in the earlier shot of the society building.

As for the second...

Then in the next shot...

It's the mysterious hair-eating top hat!

Just noticed this on rewatching the Season 6 premiere "Rebirth."

Right after Fry asks the two fighting Leelas how he is supposed to tell them apart, there is a brief shot where Leela is drawn with two pupils in her eye, one focused on the robot Leela and one turning to look at Fry.

I've attached a screencap for proof:

Don't you people see?  That dot on Leela #2's eye is supposed to be a dot where the gun is aiming!  That's what it is.   Leela's meant to have one eye, she'll never have two.
