Oh God, nobody in the world except you likes Pokemon anymore! It's a bizarre little children's cartoon - it was never good, just weird and over-marketed. Get over it.

Do not underestimate Pokemon. It taught kids to be acquisitive, just like everyone else in the U.S.

The Black/white guy is definitely from a star trek episode. It starred Frank Gorshin. It was a great episode about racism.

Oh God, nobody in the world except you likes Pokemon anymore! If that were true, than the series would've been canceled after season one... But instead, the series is so popular that it's currently in its 12 season. And that's pretty long for an animated series. I mean, come on, Pokemon is one of the longest running series there is! It's right up there with The Simpsons in length! There's no denying that (actually, now that I think about it, it makes sense that The Simpsons has had several references to Pokemon - considering both series are long-running and have many episodes, hehe). Also, the games are insanely popular. People of all ages play the games, not just kids. I mean, those games sell like hotcakes! I'm not kidding! In fact, Pokemon has even made the guinness book of world records before. But anyway, I rest my case. I'm not the only person in existence who still likes Pokemon. There's plenty other fans out there. But of course, most people who do like Pokemon tend to keep it hidden, for fear of being ridiculed. Who knows? Maybe Fry or Scruffy is a closet fan who plays the classic, old-school Game Boy games in his spare time. Hehe.... Having said that, I guess that makes me weird for liking old cartoons meant for kids, and knowing way too much about them. Yeah, I'm probably the weirdest person on this forum. =P And, on a related note, is it just me or did the writers forget that Fry used to play a lot of video games? Did they forget that's one of his interests? Throughout season 1 through 4, the only references to video games were: "Anthology of Interest II", "A Bicyclops Built For Two", "The Birdbot of Ice-Catraz", and of course, "Space Pilot 3000". However, those were only short scenes (except for "Anthology of Interest II"). Oh and there's, Bender's Big Score as well, but that one didn't have anything to do with Fry. Yeah...in my opinion, I think the writers should mention Fry's interest in video games again, and maybe do something cool with that in the new season.

People of all ages play the games, not just kids. There's my main point. It's a bizarre little child's show shamelessly designed to sell merchandise. Same as Transformers, but at least Transformers was kind of cool. Pokemon is random mental super-deformed nonsense that doesn't even try to hide the fact that it's a marketing ploy. Gotta catch BUY 'em all!

I just noticed that the alien on the far left has basically the same style cap that Henry Aaron would have worn in 1972. His bat is on the wrong shoulder though.

But the people over 12 that like pokemon are the people that adults tell their children not to stare at and they trash talk about later

I'm not the only person in existence who still likes Pokemon. There's plenty other fans out there. Actually, ever since "Futurama" was revealed to be returning for a sixth season, I had to occupy myself with something until then (which explains my absence from the forum recently). I managed to rekindle my obsession with Pokemon, and you know what, I don't care if I play Pokemon in public, I don't care whether people label me as this or that (I actually keep my obsession with Futurama festering inside of me, and kept it hidden from my family for a good three or four years). I really just wanna be myself and sucks to anybody who argues otherwise. And I must concur, Pokemon shall live on. But, in the case of the hat that you saw, I just read on the Pokemon Wikipedia yesterday, Bulbapedia, that the protoganist of the Pokemon anime series, Ash, won that hat from a competition prior to becoming a Pokemon trainer. I don't believe that hat is an original Pokemon hat- I do suspect that it is based off of a popular baseball cap in Japan. But, that's not just why I came to post in this thread. You see, I had found a goof in the episode "A Leela of Her Own". And a big one at that (unless if you try to make up theories excusing this animation goof). As Jackie Anderson is up to bat for her team, she can also be seen in her street clothes in several shots of the stands between the strikes and homerun. If I have time I'll try to insert some screenshots from that scene, but for now I'm too flustered with my "special needs" Dratini (I don't want to waste a TM on her! Level up faster, I can't continue to keep battling this hiker for experience points!).

The first Ghost in the Shell movie: About halfway through the Major happens to notice another cyborg woman with the same chassis as her. It's the year 3000 - there may be prosthetic bodies, a certain number produced from a given mold.
Or clones.
It could also be her twin sister supporting her from the stands.
Or a time-duplicate.
Or a version of her from a parallel universe... sans cowboy hat.

It might be interesting to see if Jackie made it to the stands in ITWGY.

Dark wizards, people. Whenever something happens that can't be explained, it's the work of dark wizards.
No doubt Al Gore is against them.

Nothing could be bad as the original Sims. A sim could die because the toilet object was too much of an obstacle to navigate around.
