On the wall with Benders face imprinted into it, it reads around his head:

Rock on!
Eddie Rosas

Then there are a few scattered letters (F, Q, N, etc).

Who is Eddie Rosas?

Damn Fox's sliver of credits and cutting of the end theme!

Hmm figured it would be someone in the credits that fox never ever shows.

Course I could have looked in the ending credits of the dvds, but what do I look like?  Someone who isn't lazy?

Sarge didn't work at Futurama during season 1.

How would Leela know how to write AL1 on the score card for blernsball?  Why is there tons of AL1 written everywhere if no one can translate it (not even brainzilla).

Maybe the guy in the orphanarium mistook it for AL3, or was just too damn lazy to get it translated and lied about it being untranslatable.

But the professor agreed with him, he said he could only translate it into an even more complicated langue they would have less a chance of understanding. Maybe the robots are holding out on us... or perhaps only a select few know how read and write it and use it within said group...

I like calling it Alienese better than AL1... its more classy.  :D

What do you call AL2 and AL3 then?
The professor is senile and his machine made glow in the dark noses, it's no wonder it can only turn things into gobbledigook. I think that if Fry took that message to almost anyone else then they would have been able to translate it.

I think that Farnsworth just likes to do crazy mad scientist stuff in order to solve simple problems, and the Warden at the orphanarium is either just stupid or lazy, maybe both.

Failing that, it's a cartoon.

Also, in the very same episode we KNOW that it can be translated, because Leela's mother knew what to write after being a student of alien language studies.  It's obvious that Farnsworth and the Warden are just fools.  Bender probably could have translated it for Fry, but he was too busy making money cleaning up waste.

Um, hate to break this to people, but the AL1 was a joke in Leela's homeworld.  When it first appeared in the first episode, it was translated by that night (as stated by David Cohen in the DVD).  Saying that no one could translate it, not even a supercomputer/nose type machine, was a joke on how fast people on the internet were able to figure out AL1.

Leela's mother was an expert in exo-linguistics, which is why she knew how to write in alienese.

Warden Vogul, it seems, tried to translate it (or at least knew that people have tried to translate it).  He stated that "no one on earth (that is known) can translate it, not even brainzilla (obviously a very smart radioactive prehistoric brainasaur)".  He wouldn't have used an exact quote of someone trying to translate it unless he knew that person or thing tried.

Farnsworth did translate it, but into betacrypt3.  That is even harder to translate though (hehehe).

Now, be fair. Vogel is just a fool, but Farnsworth is a senile, doddering old crapheaded glue-sniffer.  :p
