you gotta love that on the new movie, during the very brief sports scene, they included Tri-Dimensional Chess. cohen rules.

i dont have any pics but its at the beginning on the news when they go to sports. it shows a short adage and one of the pics is of tri dimentional chess. then sportsbot 5000 says "all sports are cancelled".

In one of the episodes, I think it was Fry and the Slurm Factory, Leela and the Professor are playing 3-D scrabble.

Tri-D chess is a Star Trek reference.

Ya. Never noticed that before. Its not as cool as that one intro (forget which episode) where Fry and Bender are playing a sort of holographic chess with moving characters tho. I actually went on like a 2-hour google trek to look if soemthing like that had ever been invented. Sadly, it has not

Sadly 'portrayed in a movie' does not (necessarily) imply 'been invented' (i.e. been invented yet, in real life).

you would probably get attacked by all the pieces even tho they are holograms like rimmer in red dwarf they will still hurt you
