When will people learn that they didn't screw up any of the time paradox duplicate stuff.

Good point about Bender's eyes though.

Indeed you were incorrect, its ok, time travel is always complicated, and its suss6052, not 6025 please do try and pay attention.
Although it appears that there were three Philip J. Fry's running around there are really only two.
Our Fry, the original one who was frozen in the 20th century and awoke before the dawn of the 31st century. In using the Time code he was sent back to about midnight on January 1st 2000, then he went down to Panuchi's seeking to tell Mr. Panuchi that he had made it back from the pizza delivery and to get a slice of pizza, but he no longer had any money from the 20th century, so at 1:00am or so he walked back to the cryogenics lab for the pizza that was there, but it was ice cold. He then used the time code again to go back the hour in time to when the pizza was still luke warm. He takes a slice of the pizza, then notices the past version of him kicking the self destructing bender into a cryo-tube and tells him self nice kick. The Philip J. Fry who has yet to use the time code for the pizza berates the one who did saying that Nibbler warned against using the time code. "Fine Mr Responsible, don't use the time code, but that pizza was good." The original Fry then remembers that frozen him still had a wallet full of old timey money, tries to reach for it, grabs his own butt and falls into the cryo-chamber. Fry 2 goes to Panuchi's not merely to say I'm back after the delivery but to ask if he can move into the upstairs storage since Michelle had kicked him out earlier that night.

Since Fry 2 (Lars) does not use the time code when the original Fry did and for the purpose that the original Fry did he created a paradox, logically he should not exist except for the fact that the original Fry revealed himself to the past version and the past version decides not to use the code.

Fry 1 is Fry 3 because he is the one who used the time code twice. The time line for Fry 1 is like this:

From 1974 until December 31 1999 - Living in the 20th century
Frozen from January 1 2000 until December 31 2999
From 3000 until 3007- Lived out the events of the series and most of the first movie
Some time in the year 3007 used the time code to go back to the year 2000
Between Midnight and One A.M. on the year 2000 kicks a malfunctioning Bending unit into the cryo-chamber and goes to Panuchi's Pizza place to tell Mr. Panuchi that he had finished the delivery.
He then realized that he was hungry but had no money for pizza, therefore decided to walk back to the cryogenics lab to try and get the free pizza.

It was ice cold so he decided to use the time code again to go back to midnight when the pizza was still Luke-warm.

This is about the time he eats a slice of the pizza, and says Nice Kick me, and this interaction between two versions of himself causes the one who hadn't used the time code the second time yet, to decide not to use the time code, creating the paradox of his continued existence

Briefly after this exchange of words our Fry tried to get the money he had in his wallet when he had been frozen but ends up touching his butt and falling into the tube.

From January 1 2000 until December 31 2999 He remains in stasis with his earlier self, but then its time for his earlier self to go and do everything that happened in the first place, unaware of the time code until sometime in the year 3007.

Then if the pilot was to be believed Leela ran into the chamber and it reset for another thousand years until the first fry resets the chamber for five minutes.

After that five minutes the fry who has already lived the upcoming 7.95 years freezes himself for that period of time and then awakes and walks out just in time to interrupt the funeral being held in his honor.

Fry 2 (Lars) was there to hear bender give his story about how he murdered his best friend Fry in 2012, but Lars knows that wasn't true or he wouldn't be there then, courting Leela, however he does conveniently leave as soon as the original Fry shows up so as to miss the speech that the professor gave about all time paradox duplicates being doomed, such as the second nudar, Hermes' duplicate body, and Lars.

The Fry who became Lars had come off relatively uninjured from the rocket attack that burned the Pizza Parlor to the ground, only having lost most of his hair on his head, and damaging his larynx causing his voice to sound slightly different, but he was still a duplicate of Fry.

Lars froze him self the same day that bender allegedly killed the time duplicate of fry, and he used Michelle's cryonic chamber to do so, she had originally been scheduled to be frozen for 254 years from the year 2012, but Lars reset the chamber for 990 years, bringing both him and her to the year 3002, about the time the Cryonic woman would have taken place in canon.

From the year 3002 Fry's Duplicate (Lars) went to work in the head museum as a feeder for the heads in jars, awaiting the day that Leela would show up. Basically some version of Fry intends on stealing her from our version of Fry, but thats not really the issue at hand here.

The only doomed duplicate in this whole mess is Lars, because he refused to use the time code at the point in time that the original Fry from the 20-31st century did.

The original Fry in the story is the same one who walks out of the chamber a full 7.95 years after he did in the first place, in order to resume his life where it had been left off by going back in time.

I was just thinking that too. I don't care if I'm wrong........ Time will work itself out. But DON'T end up being your own Grandpa. Well, in Bender's words, I'm gonna go kill myself.

Good explanation.

You forgot to mention the duplicate Benders, though. 19 seconds earlier Bender is doomed because he waits for Fry instead of using the code and all the Benders at the end are doomed because they choose to stay longer and hence did not use the code as they were supposed to.

The simple rule is if you didn't use the code when a precedent had been set for you using it then you will become a duplicate. Bender aside, there are only 2 examples of this in the movie - Fry/Lars and the two Nudars.

Hermes' body is another matter, however. It makes sense to me only because of the "paradox correcting" clause that Nibbler mentions, however it is clearly different to how the other duplicates were created.

And thinking is a good thing SMH ;)

Ok so I didn't fully explain the duplicate benders, but I did mention kicking in the self destructing paradox duplicate that waited for fry instead of going to the rest room, and yes Hermes was a different sort of paradox, but technically the body is doomed because it is a copy, even though technically Hermes should have no longer existed if Bender had killed him, without the time code being paradox correcting. Furthermore this was about how there were only ever two Frys, even though one was technically in two places at the same time

But over-thinking is a bad thing! You don't want the innocent minds of Futurama viewers to explode because they over-thought the "time paradox duplicate thingy!!!"
