I was going frame by frame in the opening credits last night for the first time ever, because I recently got a TiVo for X-Mas.  I had never done it before because my old VCR doesn't have that feature.  I noticed something that I had never seen before in the shot where we usually see the cartoon on the billboard.

There is a man in the pnuematic tubes that is reading a New New York Post and the headline reads as follows:

MOON PIE
FIGHT
IN MARS BAR

That's a pretty funny gag, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and if maybe the paper headline changed with each episode.  Anyone know?

Also, earlier in the opening there is an odd little man in the tubes with stubby legs and a hook for one of his hands.

Most certainly.  Actually I was trying to figure out what the hell that cab said with the alien language on it.  I still can't make it out though.

I found that newspaper thing out a while back but never said anything, figuring people noticed it before.

I can't make out crap from the cab, even with the dvd.  I think the first word might be liquid if it is in english

I also did a frame by frame of the opening and it's interesting to note that Amy, Zoidberg, Kif, and Hermies are all traveling via the tubeway.

Also, after the first shot of the tubes is over there is a red sign in AL1 that flashes on screen very clearly for a few seconds.  I didn't know what it says though, because I don't know the thing off the top of my head.

I'm sure it's already been decoded, but does anyone know what it says?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it on Chump's site.  :)

I extracted the audio from leela's homeworld and compared it to some other episodes, the opening credits is the same length.

Even Futurama recommends you get a TiVo. I can remember some sight gags, like there was some grafitti in AL1 where the guy was buying crack from a vending machine. I still don't know what it meant.

You HAVE to go frame-by frame to catch every detail in the opening credits! There's like, a hundred different things going on!

Did anyone work out what was on the cab or do I need to go frame by frame on my own DVD's?
