Has anyone noticed the quick inconsistencies that happen to Bender's body in Godfellas?

When he first gets out into space, he carves a picture of him killing all humans on his chest, yet it disappears in like a single shot.  The same thing happens when the astroid wizzes through his head and makes a whole.

I usually don't really notice inconstencies like that, but the fact that they happened so quickly, and back to back made it seem a little sloppy to me.

What do other people think about inconsistencies such as this?  I can see a need for getting characters back to their original look without dweling on how they did it, but it can also be annoying at times.

I explain my out of it by saying that in the future  robots are infused with maintenance packets of builder nanomachines that enable them to repair damage. They're not *just* lumps of metal. It makes sense because it would reduce the need for maintenance on the world's vast population of robots. This would also explain how an apparently lifeless machine could 'heal' internal injuries in 'Bendin' in the Wind.
Of course, massive damage or obselescence can't be fixed by the nanites, but small holes or scratches can be reformed by careful molecular construction work.
Bender gets lots of scratches, dents, and holes throughout the series that are repaired inexplicably.

Nanomachines can explain away ANYTHING. That's why I love 'em.

Another thing in that ep is that bender bends his neck forward which he is not supposed to be able to do

He's done that a couple of times. Though we have seen him extend his head up on a kind of cable <neck> thing that can twist about, so perhaps when he's bending his head forward he's actually detaching it.

Yeah, his head must be detached and supported by the cable thing.

However nanotechnology is a sci-fi concept that's not yet been explored in Futurama. They should try it on for size in an upcoming episode.

It took many years of toil and sacrifice to draw. Dozens of illegal immigrant workers died during construction.

Even though I didn't really like Godfellas too much, I still wonder how the Fry, Leela, and the monks were able to find him.

That was also the episode where they tell the viewers that robots need alchohol to function. Before that it was just one of  the many confusing oddities that were in the show.

He's not technically drunk in that episode. His poor state is a result of him not drinking, ie; his fuel cells are running low and he's gradually powering down. Robots can't get drunk by drinking - they can, however, become intoxicated by electrical input (Hell is Other Robots).
