Anyone notice how in "The Cryogenic Woman" Fry is still fired in the end, but the next episode everything just goes back to normal?
There are similiar cases in other episodes also.

    • Yes, it has been discussed before.
    • You might have found one of these prior discussions had you used the search function.
    • I suggest you read the FAQ.

Well, you see, if the professor or Hermes actually fired them permanently, they would have to go apply for new jobs. Now, one little-known fact about the future is that you can reapply for a career chip, to check and see if the job you're best suited for has changed over time. Now, Farnsworth and Hermes know that if they (the fired parties) were to go do this, the career chip machine would register them for different jobs. And since no one has ever had the career chip machine assign them new jobs, there would be some severe suspicion, and since they (the fired parties) would not be on good terms with the company that fired them, they may be inclined to reveal that the professor was illegally reusing career chips. Most of the time they were fired, it was mainly just to teach them a lesson, to get some quiet around the building, or send them off to war. You know, the usual.

The only thing the professor doesn't know is that career chips are removable. Actually, he does know. He just forgot. And Hermes doesn't know, because he's never had a career chip. He's a grade 37, fer cryin' out loud!

I'm not 100% sure what you mean (use full words and proper punctuation to enhance readability), but based on what I can gather:

We prefer for people to use the old threads, in order to keep all relevant information in one place. Whether they post in the old thread or make a new one will have no impact on how quickly they will get an answer. But making a new thread will help clutter up the forum, something we try to avoid, thus irritating older members and possible delay the answer.
