In the episode, "Bendin' In The Wind" how many states did the gang drive through?

Here are the maps they are showing:

these are 15 (14 we are seeing on the map, plus High Cal we know of).
If we go by the states that are between them now adays they'd have to cross at least 5 more (Ohio, Indianna, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota), probably more though.

Ohio? You mean eHio.

And I guess the others might be...

Native Americana

And what about Michigan Michmashigan?  North and South Duckota?  Nebbisheraska?  So many possibilities...

What about that AL1 state? I've decyphered that. It says:

That must be where the Soylent company is.

A related question occurs to me; have they ever said how many total states there are in the US in the year 3000?
From the maps in "Bendin' in the wind" it seems all the old states are still there, but some have been split.

Pennsylvania has become Penn Republic and Sylvania, and Cali is HighCal and LoCal. That means at least 52, assuming nothing happened to Alaska or Hawaii.

I don't remember them ever saying in the show, but I've been wrong before, anyone remember any other comments about it?

Are you sure it's not 'The Reunited States'?  ;)
