Do Amy's parents like or hate Kif?

In episode "A Flight to remember" Amy's parents suggest that Kif would be a good boyfriend for Amy

Then in episode "The Buggalo Roam" Amy's parents are wondering who Amy's boyfriend is (???) and then they say Kif is like a wimp (???)

In "A Flight to Remember" Kif was the captain of the Titanic. In "Where the Buggalo Roam" he was a squishy nobody. Huuuuuuge difference. Amy's parents only saw the captains badge in AFTR, nothing else.
