In this episode there is a scene where Leela is pitching and a woman from the audience stands up and yells "Throw like a girl!" in a supportive manner.  Later, that same woman appears to be Jackie Robinson.

Maybe the women were different, but I remember them looking the same.  If it's the latter, I wonder if this was somewhat of a continuity error.  Or maybe Jackie had a sudden change of heart about what Leela was doing and became determined to be the first good female Blernsball player.  I checked the capsule for this episode and didn't notice anything mentioned about Jackie, so maybe the appearance thing is all in my head

No, that was Jackie in both instances.

In the first appearance she's never seen Leela pitch before. She's an up-and-coming blernsball player herself, hoping for a shot in the big league, so naturally she's enthusiastic about finally seeing a female player on a major league team, since it will make it easier for her to get a spot as well.

Then she witness how bad Leela is at pitching. This severely lessens her chances of playing professionally, resulting in a much less positive opinion of Leela.

No continuity error or mistake there, all very deliberately and straight-forward.

BTW, her last name is Anderson, not Robinson.

Thanks for the explanation.  I'm glad I wasn't seeing things.  I thought the name was wrong, oops   :hmpf:
