bender's neck

hey, this may have been mentioned before but..... anyway...In 'Godfellas' Bender cannot stop the second group's (on his body)  prayers from going unheeded he cannot 'hear prayers coming outta his ass', this must be because he cannot move his neck to speak to them, but in 'Insane in the Mainframe' he moves his neck wildly to stop getting stabbed by Roberto when he is a hostage. Thanks, Jake. FUTURAMA RULES!!!

More importantly, how could Bender move his head so that he could have seen the inhabitants of his chest.

Well as Matt Groening (I believe) said once in a commentary, the beauty of a sci-fi is that any character can gain (or lose in this case) a special power to further the plot... or something like that.

There were, but on his front in Godfellas

He was retro-fitted with a maleuable ring of metal around his head in that episode and but it became fused on his reentry  into earth's orbit and that's why you never see it again.

Why didn't Benders parachute burn up on re-entry, was that also made of asbstos?

That parachute was a gift from god. Of course god would have taken reentry into consideration, and taken steps to prevent burnup.

There was an episode where Benders head came off his body, but was still attached and dodging an attack. Maybe he just loosened his head a little?

Well, not little people, but Pavarotti's Head-in-a-Jar pre-"I Dated a Robot" and Lucy Liu's after that.

He has no neck, his head is retractable though.

When he appears to "bend his neck," he actually just extends his head a tiny bit, a la "Insane in the Mainframe," and tilts it a little.  No incontinuity, nope, none at all!

David Cohen states that they only bend bender's 'neck' when they need to make him look particularly miserable. (ie. i, roomate) also, a clear solution that bender could use, and is seen in almost every episode, is, he could have removed his head to talk to both the chest people and the ass people (he should just make sure he doesnt drop it...that would suck in space)

Bender has a neck.  He even says he has a neck, so to speak. I think it was in the first episode (correct me if im wrong) as Farnsworth takes of Bender's head to find a bunch of junk in his neck, Bender says "Like you don't have crap in your neck"  which sounds to me that Bender thinks he has a neck. Actually Im not 100 percent sure thats the quote, he could have said head instead of neck, but its been a long day, and,and....GET OFF MY BACK.
