so this is what i'm curious about... hermes said in 77 innings leela hadn't gotten a single out... that said innings are 3 outs... she should have 0 outs and lotsa earned runs... a goof on the writers part?

Stupid writers. They need to go back to their blurnsball rulebooks, and stop all this half-arsed amatuer talk.

Or perhaps she was so bad that the league decided that they should just randomly advance the innings when she pitched because otherwise they would be playing 1 inning for several days.

no even if she was pulled out... she wouldn't have recorded an out...

yes i did, i don't see what you're saying, cuz usually when a pitcher does bad, you replace them, the one inning wouldn't go on continuously, because the new pitcher would get 3 outs?

No, what I was saying is that everytime she just enters the game, the skip an inning or two just to save time because otherwise she would just be hitting people for hours. That way on the record she was in for an inning or two, but never actually did anything. They didn't take her out when she started to suck because that is why she was there in the first place.

k, thanks for clarifying... lol actually ur explanation makes it even more amusing, as there is open debate on whether baseball should return to it's roots, if futurama is any indication it looks like we're abandoning tradition forever

Maybe there's a five-run maximum for each inning in Blernsball, so Leela really didn't ever get an out.

Anything can happen, it's the future! Also, Blernesball is a game with giant spiders and motorcycles and exploding bases. The day we understand the rules in Blurnesball will be the day that, um, flying coyotes chase planes.

Eh...he's been doing it all day. I think I told him to, but I can't remember

Also, Leela was a relief pitcher. They brought her in when the crowd was unhappy for both comic relief and to relieve the starting pitcher. That's how she went through 77 innings.

jicannon, i understand how a relief pitcher works a game, but that doesn't explain 77 innings, is it safe to say this is a wizards work or no?

That's right, you little shit-head!

Blernsball is quite different form baseball. Did you see the scoring card?

EDITed to explain that the shit-head part was a joke. Some people can't seem to be able to see sarcasm, those dipshits.

I can welcome anyone I want! By the way- welcome to PEEL, Wooter.

Also, I'm glad you straightened me out in all of my confusion. Because surely I spend enough time online to have mixed up typing and actual speech... Well, let me rephrase: "how do you normally type? In chatspeak (or chattyping  :p) or in actual English?

The whole point is: Don't substitute numbers and symbols for letters and words and don't spell like en epileptic in the dark if you can do better.

Resorting to insults is generally considered a bad move here. I simply asked a question, followed by a belated welcome (which, by the way, is considered polite- look it up), and nothing more. One which you have so far failed to answer.
Continue with your flamimg if you must, just as long as you know that the -button has a purpose.

Rules aren't meant for entertainment. Rules are meant to be followed, and that's it.
Are you really that hellbent on breaking the streak of well-behaving aussies on this board?

Have we had an Australian troll before?

Heating up a discussion? Let's recap:
People were talking about blernsball, and you choose to freak out over someone saying "welcome" (which I - again - remind you is a polite thing to do), followed by quite a golden nugget of an insult, and then one more.
It sounds like you fail realize that this isn't generally known as "heating up a discussion (about blernsball)", but "trolling". Or do you? PEEL is moderated, and moderated well. I linked you up with the rules, and if you choose to ignore these repeatedly, you'll get reprimanded. Simple.

You might wanna check out the thread in Information Booth which states that having secondary accounts is a banable offence.

If you made this account to work around a temp ban on Colonel43, enjoy being perma-banned.

Maybe blernsball is like cricket.  You know, you can pitch an inning without getting an out if you bowl a certain number of overs...
