My Little Brother said this to me when we were watching 'Fry And The Slurm Factory'. In the bit near the end when the slurm queen is chasing them, Slurms McKenzie says that he'll stop the queen by partying, he turns on the radio which causes the cave-in.
Why didn't Slurms Just run when he turned the radio on?

Slurms McKenzie didn't run because he wanted to die.  He says in the episode that he was sick of partying. Of course I could be wrong.

Well, it was implied earlier in the episode that all that partying had taken a toll on him...he was probably too tired to run for his life.

Either that, or a wizard prevented him from running.

(Of course, there's still the question of how exactly partying would save everyone else...)

Either he wanted to die, or he was simply too tired.

Maybe Slurms was just like me and absolutely refuses to run more that 5 feet at a time, even if his life is at risk.

Maybe Slurm is SO addictive that Slurms couldn't run because of his addicition to the Slurm made in the factory, so he had to stay.

... I also thought the same thing when I watched that episode. No not the wizard thing, the slurms thing... Didn't they say that when he gets back to earth with Bender and Fry that he wouldnt have to party anymore? ... He could have just left the radio their and ran to the ship! ...it would have been cool if Slurms would have apeared in another episode... as a wizard... They could have called it : "The return of Slurms...

...the wizard"

Yeah; it's from the Halloween episode with Lucy Lawless.  Lucy is answering questions about her show, Xena, and someone asks a question about her horse being one breed in one scene, and another breed in the next scene.  She explains that, "Whenever you see something like that happen, a wizard did it."

For one he's a slug, so doubt he could outrun the cave-in even if he wanted to. Those critters are usually pretty slow.

Secondly he said earlier he was all partied out, and want to settle down and have a peaceful and quiet life. Had he stayed at Wormulon he would have been forced to party every night as per his contract with Slurm, if he fled to Earth he would've been forced to party by Bender and everyone who recognised him. He took the only viable option open that would end his non-stop party hell; sacrificing himself to safe the others.

I thought the wizards blaming was a reference to Crimes of the Hot, but now that you mention it I get the Simpsons reference too. I never would have thought of that though.

Gore: My fellow Earthicans, as I discuss in my book, Earth In The Balance and the much more popular Harry Potter And The Balance Of Earth we need to defend our planet against pollution. As well as dark wizards.

[The audience cheers and a dark wizard who looks like Tim The Enchanter from Monty Python And The Holy Grail sulks.]

Dark Wizard: Sure! Blame the wizards!

No, because members of this forum were using the wizard explanation long before "Crimes of the Hot" originally aired.

The wizards thing was originally the simpsons reference as stated above... however the futurama reference has since then been tacked on... and most people think of the wizard in Crimes of the Hot when they say that anyways... in fact I think there was an animated .gif (or maybe just static picture) floating around like that.....

As for him not running, it's simple.  Slurmz McKenzie is a slug... must like a big slimy penis, it takes him awhile to get in the mood.  Also he's not that big... he'd be like a worm... being crushed by an even bigger worm...  and thus the day was saved... Answer all your questions?  I thought not, but I have taken up your preciously valuable time... time that you will NEVER regain! Muhahahahah!

hmmm maybe slurms stayed because he wanted to make sure that the other worm was crushed.

still i could be wrong and the wizard theory is right...

Your momma can suck it. Suuck it long and suck it hard. Us nerds get pleasure form these sorts of meaningless debates, and for many of us that's all we have. We're nerds, so many other pleasurable activites are off limits to us. We need this debate to fill our lnog and lonely lives. :sobs:
