In honor of its awesome shiny Emmy, that episode has two separate commentary tracks. One regular one (Groening, Cohen, Moore, Burns, Dietter, DiMaggio, West) and one animation-centric one (Groening, Cohen, Moore, Katz, Vanzo). The animation commmentary runs longer than both the normal commentary and the episode itself, so they tacked on the black screen to give them time to talk. Unfortunately, it looks all awkward and out of place when you're listening to commentary number one.

I recommend you check out the second commentary, killbot. Claudia Katz has a hilariously grating voice. Enjoy!
