If it's a replacement part it's made of the same alloy as the original. Why? Because, as Pikka mentioned further up, MOMCorp has a monopoly on robots. It's cheaper and easier to produce one line of products, maximising profits. If costumers are unhappy, what are they gonna do? It's a monopoly!

Then again, MOMCorp could cease selling replacement parts for its robots, forcing customers to buy entirely new robots.  Planned obsolescence at its best/worst. Perhaps Bender has some parts custom-made by someone else.

I could see Fry trying to make Bender a new arm and torching his hand repeatedly.  :laff:

I thought dolomite was made up, I never realised it was an actual material
   :nono: So what is dolomite exactly? And not what the professor said (unless it's exactly what the professor said).

You'll find that happens with a lot of other things in Futurama, it makes science come alive, with added comedy  :)

I sure hope it's educated me some for the sake of future science classes..this year I've got Earth science, which I kinda like..especially if there happens to be any space-related things we need to learn. Futurama is the only show I tought was funny the entire length of the show...

Yeah, I've found that out from watching Futurama and reading other people's posts on the scientific references. It's great to know these tid-bits. I found Futurama to be like Red Dwarf with the science-fiction side of things, in fact I learnt more about science from watching shows like Futurama and Red Dwarf than I ever did in high school physics class. For example the first time I ever heard of nano-technology was from Red Dwarf, and now, thanks to you guys I know Dolomite is real!!

Yeah these percentage things must be jokes, although it might be nice if they all added up to 100% Then again, if they did then all of us nerdy fan's wouldn't have anything to type about and would be even more bord.   :p

Yes, they do seem to pretty much keep with true science..I'm sure in some episode they could have been off a tiny bit.

:laff: Well, kinda.  ;) We all know that they really can kick any other show's behind right? Bender's at least 170% robot, since he's made of so many different mteals, all at least 30% or more of his entire self.

I searched online for days at a time, hacking into computers.Well, I went to billywest.com   ;) (I think) the email adress is billy@billywest.com ...not really getting directly to him, but hey, I'm hoping he replies. It mentions that if he doesn't, he's very sorry and he is busy, which I'm sure's true.

Trchri
You have spent somuch time with your endless calculations, but do you think that what others may be saying has some validity?
Bender blows up, melts or just "hocks his body" and so the different metas appearing in different episodes coud just be because of his disagreeable body???
Is Flexo made of the same metals though??
They are identical, apart from the beard...

perhaps Bender merely says he is composed of those metals to fit the situation, and we (the loyal fans) are the only ones who get it because we remmebr a prior episode in which he says otherwise.  i mean, this is bender, and iwould'nt put it past him.  i think he says he is composed of those metals to justify/prove his talents at the moment.  but when he says "eat lead", he's refering to his true composition : mostly made of lead.  it makes sense, b/c in futurama, everything is backwards.  nowadays, building with lead is dangerous, but in futurama, anything goes.  it makes sense.

um just because im curious, in The Farnsworth Parabox Bender A (normal bender) says I flipped a coin to pick my finish... foghat gray. Would this make a difference to his composition? And yes i did read ashkazz's post.

I suppose so.  If parallel Bender's gold finish is real gold plating, then his composition includes a percentage of gold which regular Bender's composition lacks.  It would be a very small percentage however.

gold plating is called "guilded" FYI.
