also, keep watching,and when Scythe & Chiton go into the "abandoned shed" there is a musical sting, from futurama.
and when they get beamed into the ship by the teleporter the lazer start from the futurama theme starts.

I think that's just generic orange hair ooy....

I'd be surprised if Metroid had a Futurama reference in it.
