6. Prettiest PEELer: I assume we can choose guys as well, and so I choose, aside from leiapadme77, FriskyInMyLoins (Frisco17) and Otis Jivefunky. I would attack each one of those with gusto!

7. Massive Debator: The obvious totalnerduk, coldangel, and Ralph Snart.

8. Smartest PEELer: This one is tough because I think we are all generally smart on here. Totalnerduk has a lot of book/history knowledge. Bend-err seems pretty smart as well, as he is a smartass in most of his posts heh. I believe winna is actually quite very intelligent, perhaps the most intelligent of anyone here.

10. Most Helpful: Gopher has helped me many a times in the past, and Bend-err is known for his work on the wiki and in the computer help thread. Xanfor is really helpful too with regards to his mod duties.

1. Most Off-Topic - winna is my first nomination, for his seemingly random yet hilarious posts. I still fondly remember his random post about the 1950s style bathroom with the caesar dressing and wallpaper that seemed in agony. My second nomination is meisterPOOP. Although they rarely post in OffTopic, when they do their posts are just as randomly worded and puzzling as we’ve come to expect, and that's just how we like it! Amazingly they’ve been just like that for over 10 years, impressive! Lastly I have to nominate ilovebender.com for derailing practically every thread he posted in towards the gutter that is Croydon, and apparently how great it is, along with getting high, and his fried chicken addiction...

2. Biggest Nerd - totalnerduk is my first choice and the obvious choice here. Who else goes to the trouble of getting their graphs out and making diagrams to prove certain points to the board? He is also highly knowledgeable in many nerdy areas, and quite rightly so is proud of it. I guess the clue is in the name. Secondly I shall nominate Nurdbot. Sure he hasn't posted much this year, but a click glance at his most recent post history shows that he's still a huge nerd by habit, and with a post count like that I’m not going to argue. My third nomination is for Gorky, I hope she doesn't take offence to this because nerd girls rock. With the way she articulates herself in her posts, even the simplest of things can turn into a wealth of information, facts and analysis...

3. Best WikiPEELian - Bend-err is always quick off the mark to update it, and does a thorough and good job of keeping it relevant. totalnerduk also plays an important role, and his own profile page is one of the most impressive on there...

4. Most Interesting Outside of PEEL – airbagfailure, is there anywhere in the world she hasn’t travelled? She gets around to see a lot of places in the real world and seems to be quite the social butterfly as well, especially by Peel standards. futurefreak has quite an interesting life outside of Peel too by what I have seen, and read. Lego shop? Yes, that definitely counts! SpaceGoldfish fromWazn also seems to live quite an interesting life, with their regular trips around London’s Forbidden Planet store, trips abroad (San Francisco) and their crystal obsession...

5. Most Paranoid PEELer – Ralph Snart takes the cake on this one, but the way it comes across is always worth reading. Free Hot Meal also displays paranoid tendencies, but I mean that in the nicest way possible! Bender_is_Great! is also getting a nom here, although given his behaviour he had every reason to be paranoid...

6. Prettiest PEELer – futurefreak has always been a contender for this and that hasn’t changed in 10 years. leiapadme77 is also very pretty, it would be hard to deny that. lilkitten29 is in the running too, as are many others, but I can’t nominate you all sadly, soz!...

7. Massive Debator - totalnerduk is again the obvious choice, he will debate almost anything and always have valid points regardless of the subject. SpaceGoldfish fromWazn holds their own when questioned, and has even been known to debate with themselves! coldangel is also partial to a good debate, with quite a heavy force at times, so he’s my third nomination...

8. Smartest PEELer – Xanfor, in a less is more kind of way his posts brim with intelligent subtleness. Again I’m going to have to nominate totalnerduk here, I’m starting to wonder if these awards were designed for him! I will also nominate spira as she seems like quite a bright character, her posts seems a lot more mature than you’d expect for her age...

9. Most Entertaining PEELer – DannyJC13 always entertains me with his posts, partly because he just says what he thinks and he’s himself, and I really respect that. futurefreak is always good to read and you never know what you’re gonna get, other than that it’ll be good. winna is my third nomination here, entertaining on so many levels, some levels that I never even knew existed!...

10. Most Helpful PEELer – Sadly Teral is no longer active so he’s not worthy of a nom this time. DannyJC13 is my first nom, because not only does he help me and others out on Peel, be he also helped me out off of Peel as well, and not many PEELer’s have done that. My next nom is for ~FazeShift~ who will help PEELers out when the time arises, and he’s not too patronising about it either. winna is getting another nomination from me here too, because during those occasions that he’s serious (yes they do happen!) he gives really sound and helpful advice, and he genuinely cares which means a lot...

11. Most Valuable PEELer – This is hard, I mean everyone plays their part here. First I shall nominate Nutmeg1729 as during 2011 she has become quite an asset to the board and her posts have really helped make Offtopic great again. Next I shall say [-mArc-], obvious choice I know, but it’s nothing short of a miracle that this place still exists, and without crappy ads may I add! Lastly I shall nominate FishyJoe, he doesn’t post that much in Offtopic anymore which is a shame, but his character to me is part of the foundations of Peel and helped make it the unique place it still is today...

12. Most Collectable PEELer – A fitting pick for me here is hobbitboy, being our resident stats guru he has become quite collectable. Nutmeg1729 is also quite collectable as well, don’t ask me why, there isn’t always a reason when it comes to collectables, she just is. DannyJC13 also becoming quite collectable, and I anticipate he’ll be in high demand shortly...

1. Best Moderator – Xanfor exhibits a touch of class to the proceedings and has the essence of an equal. ~FazeShift~ is also a great mod and deserving of a nom. futurefreak has done a great job, especially with adding polls to old existing episode review threads...

2. Best Poster – Nutmeg1729 is just generally a great poster and has taken the torch from some of the inactive posters and keeps it burning brightly over Peel. DannyJC13 deserves a nomination here, I genuinely like his posts and he injects something into the board that I didn’t realise was lacking, life and vitality. futurefreak is also an all-round great poster, her posts are very down to earth, often humorous in nature rather than deadly serious, never mean, and she cares about her fellow Peelers. She’s also very forgiving in nature, friendly, and clool, all of which are great qualities...

3. Most Predictable PEELer – flesheatingbull was very predictable in nature, his responses to any questioning of him, and not only for the fact that his posts wouldn’t contain capital letters in the right places. ilovebender.com in that there was a 50/50 chance that his posts would mention Croydon regardless of the thread they were posted in. SorynArkayn become very predictable with his tirade of abuse and anger when people didn’t agree with him...

4. Most Missed – ghoulishmoose is my most missed, and it sucks that she doesn’t hardly post here anymore. Sometimes even now I think I see her name posted, but it’s someone else’s long name instead. Jicannon is missed a lot and I think I can speak for all of us on that. Teral is also someone I miss around here, and I hope one day he comes back, but he seems to have dropped off the face of the planet....

5. Best Avatar – Nutmeg1729 has a great avatar, usually I’m not too keen on the non-Futurama-y ones, but her one is cloolsome. Nibblonian Leader with that Nibbler afro, that rocks. Juliet for her anime-Amy avatar which is just awesome!...

6. Most Mysterious PEELer – SpaceGoldfish fromWazn is pretty damn mysterious, what with the whole gender fiasco, and most of the stuff they come out with. Definitely meisterPOOP is very mysterious, and they’ve managed to keep up the mystery for over a decade. Seriously, if you don’t believe me then have a look at their post history and tell me that’s not frigging mysterious! homerjaysimpson also gets a nom from me, just for their unique and often bizarre posts which come out of nowhere, and their far fetched actions...

7. PEELer Most Desperate for Attention – ilovebender.com is again an obvious choice here, we all know why. During the short stay of Bender_is_Great! he was literally crying out for attention, and then he got banned, but then afterwards he came back for more, so definitely nomination worthy. Lastly KurtPikachu2001 who even managed to cause another huge rift between Peel and the Futurama Fan Forum...

8. Best PEELer Picture – lemily33 for the pics of when she went bowling with Billy West. It can’t get much clooler than that surely?...

Can I just point out here and now that although there are going to be many, many PEELers who are going to nominate Jicannon as most missed and this is a very, very nice thought - please refrain from doing so if you didn't know him or interact with him.

Best Moderator: This one is tough, all the UberMods and forum mods are great. But for me, this one has to be (besides [-mArc-], who I also nominate)Tweek. He may not make many posts, but he is doing the work behind the scenes to keep PEEL tidy. He is always there (when he is not sleeping at night hehe) to answer the call of duty and listen to our comments. He is a great mod, and an even better friend of mine. He also would fit the categoryof Most Helpful, but for sure he is Best Mod.

Thirdly I will give it to Xanfor, just because he has made some post changes for me in Offtopic and did so very quickly before a ruckus ensued.

They considered your a self nom because you are basically the center piece of the picture. With SoS's he is not at the front and center and there are at least 15 other PEELers. I'm not sure how all the ruling on this stuff is being done though so I can't really explain. They linked to the picture threads so that everyone could go through and choose. But no one is doing anything. I'm gonna go through the pictures now and choose some.

So it's okay to post a group picture but not a picture of only two people if you are in it...? Do you see how ridiculous this sounds? Like I said, we could get very technical, and I'd rather not.

I spent hours going through the photo threads and there's a few I wanted to nominate, but I had a question that hopefully someone from the council could answer: There are some pics I'd like to nom, but they were taken and/or previously posted years before. If they are posted on PEEL during 2011, do they still count? Or does it have to be a picture that was taken this year, and/or never seen on PEEL in the years prior?

Bottom line, you nominated two pictures of yourself. Tnuk, booze and I all agree that it's a self nom. SoS's picture nomination counts because it was a massive meetup of PEELers - many who have not been seen for years - and because no one PEELer is the centre of focus. Had it been a picture of himself with a few PEELers dotted around in the background, it would have also been counted as a self-nom and disregarded.

We're not getting technical, you're just trying to justify nominating yourself.

Should be from 2011 since it's the 2011 PEELies. Older pics could have been nominated for such awards in the years before.

I'm in agreement with this. As with so many other things it comes down to common sense. This is the PEELies for 2011. So if it's something outside of 2011, then it really doesn't belong.

Like I said, we could get very technical,

But it's really not needed. If the picture you're submitting for consideration contains you, and only you, it's a self-nomination. If it contains another PEELer, plus you... it's a self-nomination. If it contains so many PEELers that it's going to be a self-nomination no matter which one of half a dozen regulars nominates it, then the rule can be relaxed.

Your pictures contained two PEELers. You and futurefreak. One background contained an accidental glimpse of somebody else, but this is clearly not the focus of the picture. The pictures are of the two of you. Therefore it's self-nominating. Go find other nits to pick. This issue is closed.

Everybody else, nominate awesome pictures or take whatever you're sayting to the discussion thread. I'm not going to link to it. You know where it is. Spam will now be deleted.

3. Best WikiPEELian – SpaceMaN, bend-ooze (bend-err), totalnerduk. All three have been working pretty hard at the Wikipool.
4. Most Interesting Outside of PEEL – alexvilagosh (He has a peg-leg! I neglected to report this at the time of the meetings.)
6. Prettiest PEELer – bend-ooze (bend-err), leiapadthai77, Tedward
7. Massive Debator – turtleneckuk, winna, JoshTheater all vigorously embroil themselves in and prolong the life of any argument that happens to be occurring.
9. Most Entertaining PEELer – ginna, kmpari, and sweet vermouth (winna and km73, depicted here in a Negroni) and an affordable bottle of DrThunderbird, not to impugn on the quality of DrThunder’s posts by equating him with the nastiest of plonks.
10. Most Helpful PEELer – pri_c_weiner, any1_else, hobbitboy.
11. Most Valuable PEELer – winna, Gopher, DrThunder88. PEEL would be adrift without them, although we could probably cope for a few days if we still had two out of three.
12. Most Collectable PEELer – bend-ooze (bend-err), Tedward, chay’s head (I’ll be candid: I also don’t know what this award is. Is it for people who are so interesting that they are potentially a collectible, or for PEELers who have met so many other PEELers that they can be considered collectable?)

Do you mind if I ask why some staple categories of the previous years have been culled? Were they getting boring? There were a whole bunch of new PEELers that I’d have liked to nominate for Best New (coffeebot, Tachyon, spira), and I don’t know any of them well enough to judge if they’d fit the rest of the categories.

1. Best Mod - ~Fazeshift~ (he has keep Offtopic clean and moving forwards for as long as I have been here) and Xanfor (for just starting his mod status, he is doing a GREAT job).

1. Most Off-Topic - I will second everyone else and say winna.

2. Biggest Nerd - totalnerduk for general nerdiness, svip for some really impressive flag-related geekery and also for being excellent at computers, which seems like a nerd thing. Also, I agree with Randi's nom.

3. Best WikiPEELian - Booze for keeping things orderly.

6. Prettiest PEELer - Leiapadme77 is quite a pretty little thing. I also want to nominate Gorky, though that's nearly a self-nomination... nah, she's notably prettier than me, haha.

7. Massive Debator - svip (again, for the flags), Frisco17, and FYP. All of them have been spotted engaging in some pretty exciting discussions, you betcha.

8. Smartest PEELer - Xanfor and coffeeBot. They are particularly intelligent people in a sea of intelligent people.

9. Most Entertaining PEELer - km73. I absolutely love her posts.

10. Most Helpful PEELer - hobbitboy for his weekly statistical analysis and any1_else for just seeming like a kind and helpful person.

11. Most Valuable PEELer - i_c_weiner for Fall Madness and generally being a staple. Also, futurefreak, because she is awesome and I need not say more.

12. Most Collectable PEELer - Ralph. Because he's cool, I don't know. What does this mean? Oh, and Gorky and coffeeBot, who complete the set that includes me.

Was also wondering why Best New got cut. Ah well.
