Im a washburn fan. I used to have a washburn Accoustic which I cherished untill I decided Id like an electric, so ( and because I Didnt have any extra money left) I picked up this little guitar which has such a nice feel to it for me. Heres the link http://www.washburn.com/electrics/idol/wi14.htm But im saving up for the dream guitar. For me.. A 60's tele. MM drool MM. Now my accoustic is just a yamaha which i bought for 10 bucks, heh from some guy. Its in bad shape but it stays in tone good and it has no dead notes. Btw, I have the red-natural color washburn, as shown above. My first electric I had however was an epiphone a few years back, which I sold because I just didnt like the feel of it.

I have a song I jsutmade because im bored, ill put it up on tabs or at least the beginning for you. Ill edit this message and post it when im done. -------------------------------------- ------1----0h1------------------------ --------2------2--------------2------- ---2-------------2------1---0---0----- -0--------------------0---2-------2--- --------------------3----------------- first you play that 3 times, the 4rd time you do this -------------------------------------- ------1----0h1--------------1--------- --------2------2--------------2------- ---2-------------2------1-------0----- -0--------------------0---2----------- --------------------3----------------- let that last note ring, the h= hammer on obviously Ill try to give an attempt to put the rythm part pn this song soon, there are no words to it yet. I made it today and thats probably the reason. Its simple so anyone can play it and the standard chord for it is E. ill post agian! v v ^v ^v v v v v ^v ^v v v ---------------------------------- -1--1-11-11-1-1--1--1-11-11--1-1-- -2--2-22-22-2-2--0--0-00-00--0-0-- -2--2-22-22-3-2--2--2-22-22--3-0-- --------------3--2-2-22-22--2-0-- ---------------------------------- play this once then v v ^v ^v v v v v ^v vv ---------------------------- -1--1-11-11-1-1--1--1-11-11- -2--2-22-22-2-2--0--0-00-00- -2--2-22-22-3-2--2--2-23-20- --------------3--2--2-22-20- ---------------------------- The v mean downstroke and the ^ is an upstroke. this is simplified as I play it about twice as fast and some pal muting in between the chorus there but thats good as it is... one part left but ill put hat later! name this song for me/youand win 400 points...sorry it doesnt totally match up on there ic ant fix it but where the numbers are on the 2nd string that are kind of off.. just put them forwards ( > ) one place to correct them. Well nevermind there completley screwed up. Email me if you want a corect/whole version... Stolb3rg@yahoo.com :S

Oh BTW, if youre upset about the pricetag, I suggest getting a Epiphone SG. They sound the same to me, and the Epiphone is a few hundred dollars cheaper. I personally PREFER epiphones to Gibsons.

*BUMP* I made one of the toughest decisions I've ever faced. On my Birthday (Thursday) when my parents suprised me with a brand new guitar. It was a 2003 Epiphone Casino archtop: Unfortunetly, it wasnt exactly the thing i really wanted for a gift. I decided that I didnt really need it and I gave it up. I returned it later that night. Possibly the hardest thing i ever had to do. Almost came to tears...

I personally prefer Epis to Gibsons. I dunno why, I just like the feel and sound better.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Gibsons (especially the ES 335) but somehow, I just prefer the Casino over it...

I just my 18th B-day BBQ today and my band performed. We absolutely rocked the joint. I played my Rickenbacker 12-sting and my Rickenbacker 350(my favorite). While my lead guitarist played my 1972 Fender Stratocaster and his Ovation Electric/Accoustic.
I do wish i had that Epiphone Casino to play though...

*Bump*
Last week me and my guitarist, Brian went guitar shopping for a brand new guitar. He's been using my Stratocaster lately caus his electric is broken.
But, apparently he got accepted into Columbia University and his folks are gonna buy him ANY GUITAR HE WANTS. So we decided to milk this for all it's worth.
We stopped by the local Sam Ash and Guitar Center and tried almost every guitar in the shop. We finally have it narrowed down to a few guitars: -A 2004 Gibson 'Black Beauty' Les Paul -A 2003 Gibson SG -A 2004 Epiphone Casino -and a 2003 Fender Strat Deluxe.
Any suggestions on the decision we should make? Our band plays a mix of Classic Rock(Beatles, Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Ramones, Clash) and modern softer rock(Maroon 5, Red Hot Chile Peppers, Tenacious D) so we tried to pick the best guitar for all the styles we play.

www.guitarbar.com -- It's worth the trip to Hoboken. I've never played a Paul personally, or any Gibson for that matter, so I can't say. (I only started playing in May). But the Fender's always a good bet for the versitility, and Casinos are just gorgeous, sound and all, from what you say (and I take your word for that.) Plus, the Beatles. There we go. Anyway, my gear- (I also name my guitars) My newest one, my birthday gift, is a gorgeous Ibanez Artcore semi hollow, red finish beauty. I'm in love with the humbuckers, but that guitar can do whatever you want it too. It's also got a great acoustic sound, 3 way switch, tremolo arm, *drools*... Just wonderful. Lucy. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/bigpid/base_id/85735/ I have a Peavey Milestone V (five stringer) bass that I got for graduation. It was only $175, and a very good deal for a good bass. Sure, Peavey's not the biggest name, but it's a sturdy bass with a great low end as well as a high end. I was looking for the five stringer so I could expand composition into that territory without having to drop, because I'm not a fan of dropping. Maroon, Paul. Two acoustic guitars. One's an Oscar Schmidt named John. Nylon strings, but it's got a nice sound. All my guitars do. But my favorite guitar out of all of them is one made by an out-of-business company named Kay Musical Instruments. He's over 70 years old, and my grandmother bought him for my mom for about $30 bucks in the sixties. My mom didn't play him, so he was put away for a long, long, long time, until my brother started guitar lessons (and stopped, for some reason beyond me). Anyway, the guys over at the Guitar Bar ( http://www.guitarbar.com) offered five hundred wing wangs for him. Fast forward till May 2004, and I pull him out of the closet (I had started as a bassist and a saxophonist years before bass), because I want to fiddle with some chords for a song I was writing... then I played for hours every day in the summer (our band was highly unstable in the summer, so our bassist switched back to drums and to bass again, and I kept switching between rhythm guitar and bass as we tried out new members), but there you go. I learned guitar with George, and he's played everyday. Hell, I took him with me to go see Fastball at Penn State. George is my companion, no matter what other guitar I plug in. Speaking of which, I've got my eyes set on this Jag-stang: http://www.guitarbar.com/images/FenderJagStang00Red.jpgI also own a Vox amp, with trem and reverb. $149, and it's small enough for my bedroom, where all my guitars reside. I'm looking for a steel-string acoustic in the future for a good price. To Guitar Bar!

Amen to that. Sadly, they are wayyy overpriced these days. As far as your choices go. Trust your ears. The Les Paul will hold it's value far better than all of the others you listed, if that matters to you. --- @ Capt'n Skusting. Your SG can't be a '63. That pickguard didn't show up until 1966. That particular style of pearl logo on the headstock also indicates a later model. I'd put at 1969 - 1971. If it has a "Made in USA" stamp on the back of the headstock, it's 1970 or later. I'm a stickler for continuity when Gibsons are concerned.

Oh and awesome looking Artcore. One of the bands at a recent gig had one and I messed around with it. I love the small, semi-hollow body.
Edit: And if you ever get the chance to mess around with ANY Gibson guitar(ES 335, LP, SG) don't hesitate. You will be blown away by the quality of the guitar. Blown away, and then I'll cry once I see the tag. ... Get me a jar, cos I'm going to the science lab! I've got too many organs, anyway. Ever since I saw Miles with that Paul at the Fastball concert, I've been dying to try one. In fact, the guitarist in our school band last year had one... but I didn't get very far.

Well, after another guitar shopping spree, my guitarist has pretty much settled on the Black Beauty Les Paul. Every time I hear that awesome axe, I fucking melt. I can't wait to hear it at the same time as my Rickenbacker.
