Hey! Evanescence's name isn't evansense, it's Evanescence! That's as bad as spelling Leela Leila!

And Evanescence is 'that one girl' and 'those guys' the featuring part was that one guy who was singing with her.

That reminds me, I just saw a completely different video for Weezers Island in the Sun, there was two people getting married with cowboy hats and Weezer were playing on their lawn.  :(
What happened to the one with the puppies and the monkey?
Don't tell me I dreamed it.

Bah, just ask the others what I like, chances are one person might get it right.  :p

...well, Faze, that there was the original Island in the Sun video, before Mikey Welsh was kicked out of the band. Then they made the monkey island video...

I just got back from my school's Battle of the Bands and it was fucking awesome. My favorite bands there were Hircine(crazy metal band) and then two punk bands, United Against and Gun Shot Wound. It was cool because I knew people in all the bands(that I mentioned) but it was also kind of annoying because I was getting jealous that I wasn't playing. At first anyway.

I bought Hircine's CD there too. I think I'll be listening for a while.

Oh good, I'll sleep better now!  :)
I love that video, it's my number 2 video after Weapon of Choice.

I think I'll get a monkey... or a puppy, whichever's easier.

OK, since mods have been around and this thread hasn't died, I'll answer the question.  But it's all stuff that could be served by threads like music with rocks in or the music review thread.

I've been listening to fringe stuff like John Zorn and Captain Beefheart lately.  My longest love is old heavy metal, like Led Zeppelin.  Anyone who ever says anything bad about Led Zeppelin is asking to get punched.

For a while all I would listen to besides Led Zeppelin was Delta Blues.  I don't like much Chicago Blues, or anything like that, just real old Delta Blues.  from there I got into funk and soul/R&B, the real old seventies shit.  I played in a funk band once because I liked the drummer.

I used to be in some bands in the thrash and hardcore scene in New Jersey in the '90s, so I keep up a bit with that stuff, and now that I live around the Bay Area I've made some connections to the metal and hardcore scene here.

Right now I really dig the Scandinavian hard rock scene, such as the Hellacopters, and the Japanese garage punk scene, such as Guitar Wolf.  And if you like ska, Aquaska, try a Japanese band called Snail Ramp.

Also I listen to all sorts of world music crap.  Algerian Rai, Tuvan throat singing, Irish traditional music, French rap... and I'm more or less classically trained.

I mostly listen to thrash and plain old heavy metal. Don't like much death metal but there are some I'm very fond of. Never liked black metal though. Not into the whole satan thing. I can't stand nu-metal though. And any of the stuff you see on Top of the Pops.

Anthrax, Corrosion Of Conformity, Dark Angel, Death, D.R.I., Dream Theater, Exodus, Fear Factory, The Haunted, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, King Diamond, Kreator, Lamb Of God, Life Of Agony, Machine Head, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Metallica ( first 4 albums only ), Morbid Angel, Obituary, Opeth, Pantera, Possessed, Queensryche, Sepultura, Shadows Fall, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament.

I'm into any music with a bit of originality and depth to it, that, image-wise, evokes more than just a band singing and playing instruments. Namedropping time in no particular order:

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Radiohead, Tom Waits, Barry Adamson, Gorillaz, Depeche Mode, Adrian Sherwood, Rhythm & Sound, Two Lone Swordsmen, Drexciya, Polar, Orbital, Hybrid, Matthew Herbert, Philip Jeck, Jah Wobble & Deep Space, Amon Tobin, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Herbaliser, Fog, Four Tet, Manitoba, Colleen, Asa-Chang & Junray, Dr. Octagon, Roots Manuva, The Roots, DJ Shadow, Deadly Avenger, Sparklehorse.

In no particular order:

The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and the Experience, Nirvana, Radiohead, Meshuggah, Opeth, Jethro Tull, Pixies, Queens of the Stoneage, Kyuss, The Cure, Silverchair, Django Reinhardt, In Flames, Millencolin, Weezer, Fireside, The Clash, Rancid, Marilyn Manson, NIN, Fannypack, The Knife, Mr Bungle, Autechre, Mark Morgan, Jose Gonzales, CCR, Garmarna, Mudhoney, Nelly Furtado, Muse etc...

I listen to all kinds of music but these above are the "bands" I regurarly listen to more than one or two songs. Varies from time to time ofcourse.

Generally I like rock- I suppose fairly light rock, with some slightly heavier/ punkier stuff thrown in. I'm definitely not into pop in general (including all that rubbish hip hop, R'nB, etc.), but I don't listen to metal either.

My favourite bands at the moment: The Goo Goo Dolls, Fuel, The Living End, Matchbox 20.
I also like some stuff by Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger and 28 Days.

Mostly I listen to "Old Skool" Hardcore from the years 1991 through to 1993 and I listen to techno as well as mixing both genres.
Other than that its a mixture of whatever sounds pleasing to the ear eg. Blink 182's new track is ok but i don't like anything else they have done.

I listen to alot of 80's tunes and watch VH1 when I get the chance!

As "pop" comes from popular, they are, actually. But you might call them pop-rock or something. However, alternative does not fit.

Yeah, I found quite a few songs by Orchid and it's awesome. Naked City is a lot harder to find though and so far, I couldn't get anything.
But I haven't given up yet...

I'm very disappointed with these mods.
