And they shot the video for the first single, 'Duality,' on Saturday. But I'm so pumped to hear this album because they recorded with Rick Rubin, and because of this direct quote ( especially the bolded part, because that will silence people who say they suck because *whiny voice*'they only play power chords and don't have any solos' */whiny voice*) from this article: "In that mansion Slipknot pushed the limits of the genre in all directions. Blending their aggression with depth, rage with melody, and doing so with unshaken confidence that exudes from song to song. “We’re just better writers,” says the percussionist, “we’re better players. We’ve all been doing this for a long time and we’ve had time to grow. We have some shredder guitar solos on this album, and Corey’s singing voice is awesome right now, so he brought a lot more melodic stuff. Sonically, we’re just a lot better.” It's 9:28 AM where I am right now and already I'm almost peeing in my pants (I'm a major Slipknot freak, go figure)

Fear Factory's new album; 'Archetype' is out tomorrow. I was slightly disappointed with Digimortal, it's still a clool album though. I'm not sure about buying their new one yet though, curse Amazon for not having any audio clips yet...
Lenny Kravitz's new album; 'Baptism' is out next month. His first single sounds alright, not bad, but pretty safe. Hopefully the album will have more risks and experimentation.
Beastie Boys first new album in 6 years is out the month after that, in June. Titled 'To The 5 Boroughs', should be interesting, and hopefully worth the wait.
Then the month after that, the album I've been looking foward to more than anything else, the new Prodigy album; 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned'! This is the one album where I'd happy put down the money even if I'd never heard any of it, without any hesitation whatsoever, because I have 100% faith in it. What I don't have 100% faith in however, is the release date. Liam did say it's fucking coming out this time, no joke, but that was back in December, and we've heard nothing official since. And with only just over 3 months to go until the end of July, and no news even about a single to precede it, time is running out...
But still, these coming months could be very good for me musically...

I'd also like to mention, they had another not-so-bad whiney ballad called Fly Away From Here, but 9/11 ruined that for them.

Originally posted by Metdude: Oh, Zombie Jesus, I think there are still plenty of people who listen to Megadeth. Yeah, sad people still listen to them, like me!... I've got all four of their albums from the Dave, Dave, Marty, Nick line-up. 'Rust in Peace' is a metal classic. 'Countdown to Extinction' and 'Youthanasia' are my faves, even if they do have crap production with no punch and way too much treble... (curse Metallica's black album!) 'Cryptic Writings' is a cloolsome album too, new sound. I hated 'Risk' though, and soon got rid of that peice of shit. Havn't really heard much of 'The Word Needs A Hero', but what I have heard sounds too rehashy of their glory days. Their VH1 DVD is well worth investing in though. As for the new album, I won't expect much, probabaly won't get it either, but I'll still be interested in what it's like, you never know...

Ditto, and as I said in 'Music Video' thread in the TV section... I love the video to the Beastie Boys new single; 'Ch-Check It Out'. Reminds me a bit of the 'Sabotage' vid too. The song also rules, and nice hard beats...

I am looking forward to Bright Eyes or Desaparecidos anything they deem worthy of release this year. After the disappointment of Bright Eyes' 'Lifted' I am am excpecting something special this year. After hearing the awesome new live stuff I don't excpect to be disappointeed.

I'm looking forward to a new Muse album, however that's gonna be in 2005 probably.
Also Sum 41's next album should be good.
2004 is gonna be a slow year for albums in my opinion because all of the good bands released an album last year.

The long-awaited release of the most legendary un-finished album in Rock and Roll history, 1967's "Smile" Album by the Beach Boys. From what i've heard of it, its the most amazing and beautiful music i've ever heard...

Not that anyone cares, but Spock's Beard and The Flower Kings are in the studio recording stuff right now. Pain of Salvation are currently recording their album 'Be' which was performed on the tour last year (which I didn't get to see ). Yes are making a new album (with Rick Wakeman!!!), and Porcupine Tree have announced that they are starting to record some stuff now (which I'm mildly interested in). Yep, it's going to be a good year for me.
