sorry about the possible negetive association

I bet you when he first started liking you he'd listen to "Jeannie's Diary."  After your first date he'd switch on "pretty Ballerina." And "saturday morning" when you two were going steady... when things started to fall apart he would listen to "Daisies of the Galaxy" (the greatest song/album title of all time).  When you two broke up he listened to "It's a motherfucker" and Four years down the line he might be listening to "I'm gonna stop pretending that I didn't break your heart," or "dirty girl." and at any point in your relationship he could indulge in "Hey man (now you're really living)"  hopeful no "Restraining Order Blues" were in order.

::Swish::

Which album was that anyways?  Someone needs to educate me on the art of a good TOTPD.

Hey Show- you seem to be pretty on the ball with your Eels stuff... But please- Fucker is by far the best breakup song.

Yeah, I've been into Eels since I heard Susan's House back when it came out, and ever since, I've been a faithful buyer of their stuff, and should you be following the materialist thread, you may have noticed my semi-recent influx of Eels loot. I have no idea how many songs I have, but it's darn close to all of them. So yeah... approved.

Fucker is a great so, i guess I've got a soft spot for songs with piano that have "it's a motherfucker" as it's first line.  I couldn't find the theard that you shared all the eels loot you just got, so I gotta ask, have you heard "I Write the B-Sides"?  I never saw the CD anywhere except this online mp3 site.  it's pretty excellent.  I also have close to all of their songs but there's this one, something like "covers and b-sides" or something, that I haven't been able to find, but I know it exsists because my friend downloaded it off of limewire or something.  Anyways, yeah, they're an excellent band to get into because they have so much material, it's crazy.

I don't love hip-hop, and I'm a white guy, so I can't dance.

I can stand some dancing music and some hip-hop/rap. Pop I can't stand. Heavy metal gets annoying after a while. Some of it's okay, but it aches my head. I like rock, hard rock, punk, and all that jazz...and jazz. Even some classical stuff is good. And music from movies, television, and theatre are in my liking as well.

Really, the only styles I hate are country and emo. All the rest are fine, even polka, but country sounds the same, more so than rap, and emo is...emo.

They pioneered the whole drone metal thing and were a major influence for SunnO))) and Khanate, which is why I thought you might like them.

Never heard of them before. Time to fire up Soulseek.

I have some other doom/drone shit on my computer like Ocean, Grief, Deadbird, Jesu, etc. It's okay, I guess. At least if the bands are going to play slow, they're going to play extremely slow. But I prefer fast most of the time.

Edit: Holy molar. Never look up "Earth" on Soulseek. You'll get a swarm of locusts and possibly bit by an albatross. Someone might force you to become a Green Beret.

I suggest you simply download their second album, aptly titled "Earth 2". The titles are "Seven Angels", "Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine" and "Like Gold and Faceted". That's roughly 70 minutes of music, that should be enough.
And believe me, they're slow.

I will repeat this because I'm no expert of drone. My specialities are of the aforementioned.

Lamp & Spiff: There's this cool sludge band called Dead Meadow that my old drummer just got me into.  They actually sound like a '60s psych-rock band over the top of Noothgrush.
