I think most of what I've been listening to lately is grind/crust, but I'm also into rockabilly/psychobilly, some punk, some hardcore, some surf, hell even a little death metal sprinkled here and there.

Tiger Army is good psychobilly.  And check out Guitar Wolf.  Japanese garage punk/rockabilly.

Hey man, I'm out quite abit as it goes. I don't "pop E" (although its not like I haven't tried) and I certainly don't bop with 14yr olds.
You offended me you skank.
Besides, dancing manically is better than standing like a plum with your lighter in the air.

Thats not the Hardcore I know! I think I'll call it Breakbeat Hardcore in any future reference.

Err, not really, no.
Happy Hardcore (for the 14yr olds) broke off from Hardcore around 1994.
Hardcore gave birth to two genres, Drum and Bass and Happy Hardcore the latter being complete arse.
The Breakbeat Hardcore I listen to is from around the years 1990-1993. There is still quite an underground following, especially on the net which is how I got hold of most my records.
Actually alot of the raves where this "Hardcore" I listen to was played were held by Fantazia etc.. and they were in the papers quite alot back in the day and was pretty much the reason why the government passed the criminal justice bill.
Hardcore you know the score!

Me is off to download some Rush now...   ;)

I have a wide taste in music but I prefer Jazz/Swing/Big Band. I do have some U2, Queen and 80's in my collection too, but my most recent purchase was an Ella Fitzgerald album. So a bit different to the majority!

...woo, Archie. That reminds me... I love ska fans. I don't listen to or own much ska, but it makes for a good concert... I think it's great to see so many people dressed in suits dancing like fools. I'd shake the hand of whoever invented skanking... I enjoy it so much more than being around hardcore/punk/metal fans during a concert. A fun show for me doesn't involve punching strangers...

...and I vote "other". There's loads of good stuff...

I like quite a range of shit. Anything that's good really, but my main pleasures are:

Hip-Hop (dunno what sub styles really)
Progressive rock (mainly british 70s)
a sprinkling of (classic) punk
Progresive Electronica (including 'krautrock')
Whatever the hell the Flaming Lips are (acid-prog-punk-something I think)

Plus loads of realy random junk

Tiger Army are vaginas. It's just AFI with an upright bass(they even have the same damn drummer). Nekromantix rules all in that world. I'm also a fan of Reverend Horton Heat, the Quakes, Three Bad Jacks, The Cramps, etc.

Actually its AFI's old bass player that is in Tiger Army. Tiger Army's drummer is Fred Hell, and is a nice guy but not a former AFI member.

I personally like Ska, Punk(mostly 70's 80's but some current), Psychobilly, Orginal Garage Rock(ex. The Sonics), Singer Songwriter, Underground Hip Hop, Hardcore, Indie Rock, Reggae(60's, 70's and 80;s),  Power Pop(ex. Weezer), orginal emo(thus the 80's school, Samiam, Fugazi, Rites of Spring), Oh and I also really like The World Inferno Friendship Society but they defy genres.

Combine punk and rockabilly and you've got yourself psychobilly. Take songs at a punk beat, the fine slap tones of an upright bass, and crazy guitar lines(straight out of rockabilly land) and you've got the genre.

I like industrial, synthpop, 80s new wave (Depeche Mode, New Order, no freaking Tony Basil or Missing Persons), some goth rock (Fields of the Nephilim, The Sisters of Mercy, esp. their early bad synth stuff), some unclassifiable mope-out music like Leonard Cohen. I'm going thorugh a serious Smiths/Morrissey obsession right now. It's kind of funny because every angsty teenager I ever hung out with was a Morrissey worshipper and I never really got into him until now. It's like I'm 10 years too late to indulge my displaced teen angst, but I was too busy being an angry teenage dirtbag back then.
I also like a smattering of other stuff: The Damned, Adam Ant, string quartet music, Peaches, The Doors, Rasputina, Voltaire...geeky junk like that.

Yuki.. you rock.. .peaches is awesome..
the doors... absolutely poetically tragically amazing...
and what about the cure?..their earlier stuff was good for teen angst... songs like 'the hanging garden' and 'jumping someone elses train' are very depressingly gothic 80's... jesus i love the cure...
i love... definitely ska... skaskaska... reel big fish, dr octopus, the porkers...
some indie rock like pretty girls make graves..

i'm all over the shop..and it's great... I've been lucky enough to have seen almost everyone... (including all listed above, except the doors of course)..i just have to see radiohead, and tori amos and i can die happy.... hooray!...

I've been listening to Aereogramme for quite some time now (interestingly, I found out about them on my own since I didn't read this post up untill now) and I agree, they're indeed awesome. And "Zionist Timing" is one of the best tracks on "A Story in White".

Right now, I'm trying to get my hands on the "Seclusion" EP. Let's see how that turns out, the reviews I've read were promising so far.

The Cure used to be my true love, but I found that listening to them inspired me to write too much bad poetry. Now I just listen to The Smiths and write stories about hott angstaholics. Someitmes I still listen to the Cure, if I'm in the right mood.
I forgot to mention how much I love Siouxsie and the Banshees /the Creatures too. That lady knows how to be creepy hott.
And I did get to see Bauhaus for the reunion tour a few years ago. Daniel Ash still rocks.
Does anyone like The Tea Party?
Most people I've met have never heard of them, but it's good Doors-style semi-goth rock.

Spiritualized - Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
The Verve - Urban Hymns

And a few other really good albums...

Korn Guitarist Finds God, Leaves Band

By Jonathan Cohen

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.

Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, Calif., station KRAB-FM.

"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."

Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."

Welch added that he would be appearing at a local church on Feb. 27, during which time he would "speak (about) how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."

On its official Web site (http://www.korn.com), Korn's remaining members said they respect Welch's wishes and hope "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group is in the studio working on a new album, due in September, which will be its first since fulfilling its contract with Epic last year.

For now, no replacement for Welch has been named, nor has a new label home for the band.

Wow I didn't see it comming, well not this way anyway! I hated KoRn's last album, but always hoped they'd find their form again. I guess the next album could be quite different, and quite possibly their last with how things are looking...
