It was an okay film, but I couldn't stand the whole product placement thing.

And AIDS does indeed suck. Way to make sex even less fun. First creating babies and STDs, now AIDS!

I consider AIDS a different tier from STD. Most STD don't make you HIV Positive which more or less ends in a slow grueling and painful death due to lack of an immune system.

Not saying that all STD are harmless little things, the end result is they all suck. But AIDS and HIV suck the most.

Anyway, back to a less icky and depressing subject and exploring our squishy nerd bodies.

if i remember correctly, Melll owes Pitt Clemens a serve of boobs.

Storage of a reserve blood supply is their most important function.  If you lose a largeish amount of blood, it will release some into your bloodstream to help compensate - which is partly why lacerated spleens bleed so much.  They are also highly vascular, so they continue to bleed if damaged, which is why they often require surgical removal in cases of trauma.  It also acts as a boneyard for "defunct" red blood cells by collecting them, and recycling parts.  The former function is not a vital function, and the latter can be absorbed by other organs.  Hence, while it is an important organ, it is not vital.
