What I've been listening to lately? I'll put that in order of my top ten bands at the moment:

1) Capitalist Casualties(vicious crust)
2) Converge(hardcore from the early 90's into today)
3) Disrupt(more creepy crust music)
4) Toxic Narcotic(these guys play at all the street punk shows, but they have very distinct metal/grind influence)
5) Supersuckers(cowboy rock/punk, and even some country)
6) Ed Gein(Grind metal from Syracuse)
7) Bad Brains(80's hardcore punk, all black guys too, don't see that too often, they also play a little reggae)
8) Nekromantix(psychobilly from Denmark)
9) Starkweather(slow ass metal, but fantastic all the same)
10) Burnt By The Sun(really really heavy metal from the depths of New Jersey)

That's so not fair. I get to host the thing yet my band doesn't even get a cameo. Not even on the Comedy Stage.

I demand you add Kult of the Dead Rockstar now, or I'm sleeping in the back yard to stop the stages moving in.

Great cover story, Archie!

Roadie: So, I think the main stage will go over there, near the fish pond, and we'll.. Hey, what the...? Jake, we got a guy sleeping here!
Archie: Whuu? Huh?
Roadie: Why the Hell are you sleeping in this yard?
Archie: ...It's a protest. I have an apartment, sure I do!

Pablo Honey and The Bends are great albums, but the rest of 'em can rot.  Once they decided they'd make noise rather than rock 'n roll, my interest went to zero.  I have no idea what a Coldplay is and from your description, I don't want to.

Radiohead producing 8 more Pablo Honeys? *snores*

Sure, they are great, but also pretty boring. I think that 'Hail To The Thief' is actually up there with their best too.

Ok, I'm bored, time to make a band list.

U2, Radiohead, Beck, Blur, Placebo, Elbow, Bright Eyes, Doves, The Flaming Lips, The Dandy Warhols, The White Stripes, Betchadupa, The Cure, Travis, Coldplay, Muse, Sigur Ros, Interpol, Starsailor, The Beatles, Boomtown Rats, Jesus and Mary Chain, Spiritualized, Midnight Oil, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Who, Queen.

I just back from a four band blues concert here in Wausau WI, eight hourse of 3 good bands, one bad. Matt Perry and his group from New York, Magic Slim and the Teardrops, and Big Dog and The MOB (men of blues). Big Dog is a gutsy voiced singer, they play a kind of a Chicago/Memphis thing. Harmonica player is to die for.

Matt Perry is an agile guitarist, his band moves from clapton to hendricks to some rock songs I can't name. All with the, "I'll solo for as long as I want to" method. Still, it never gets old listening. He does, All Along the Watchtower, sounding alot like Hendrix.

The Best blues for your style is the Chicago blues band Magic Slim and the Tear Drops. The whole band just played well together, something like taking chances. Yeah, their music felt like it took chances. And Magic Slim is fast, really fast.

Reverand Raven and the Chain Smoking Alter Boys, as bad as the name. total 'powerchord' blues that kind of modernized blues that you'd hear The Blues Brothers play. Every song they played sounded more like the one before. I never was so bored, not since I tried play an entire Godsmack cd. Their a Midwest thing, I think, so no worries.

I felt "Hail To The Thief" was somewhat weak. Whereas most of the previous albums had a sort of timeless quality about them, HTTT doesn't really hold up for me. It's like they took elements from The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A and Amnesiac and shoved them together to make their own version of a pop album.

Bar "Myxamatosis", that is, which rocks.

Yeah, I've asked myself the same question and I'm not quite sure. The lyrics are, as usual, hard to decipher, so they're not much of a help. But just for the record, here they are:

They were flicking ashes through departments with trick defenses. Conversation passes through a canves held suspended. We're flat out reaching for the polished shine. Reminded of the feeling, mark the distance slide. Settled screens of red and blue redemption make no mention. Trailed framed and lines and answers slanted yr. new commission. And it's portioned out for our sake, coasts built these lines. We'll blame it on misfortune and seperate our fines.

It doesn't sound a lot like Rough Draft reference, but maybe it's just more cryptic.

However, as for the lyrics, here's a quote by North of America about their lyrics: "We're pretentious idiots."

If this awakens your enthusiasm, then you should try to live in Denmark where everybody's taste in music doesn't go anywhere beyond 50 Cent. I will say to them "Tool" and they will say "WTFROFLMAO!!!!11111111". And Tool are quite famous everywhere else. Can you imagine what it's like trying to promote some of the less famous bands?

You really should stop watching "Boogie" late at night, Pikka. It's bad for your health.  :p

And if you think you have it bad, guess who DTU hired to play at our annual summer celebration? None other than the multi-talented Nick & Jay.  :nono:

And this at an university with 6,000 engineering students. What the hell were they thinking? Worst of all, it attracted all sort of empty-headed floozies.

On the other hand, they gave me free tickets for Swan Lee and Die Herren this Friday.

Nik & Jay?! Have you dissected the "Hot" lyrics? Sun setting over Bellevue? I think not. Steaming up a car that has its windows open? You screw up again, Nik & Jay.

I don't watch Boogie- only when Huxi is on (And Jeanet from time to time) I'm just in a bad crowd from time to time. Yes- I have stooped to the level that causes me to have a profile on SKUM. But I have filtered out the rabble and found a select few who can make intelligent conversation.
