All right, everyone, see what I did there? If WikiPEELia is going to be worth rehosting, it's going to need every single one of you to keep it current. Even if you're just going to update the Main Page with the latest news, or outfit the newest POTM winner with a shiny infobox, that little detail is worth so much for the credibility of the project as a whole. It takes dedication to achieve results. And if you're in doubt about something, ask! We're supposed to be a community, are we not?

Odd. Everything I did yesterday was completely reset overnight. I'm not to happy about that. Luckily I've learned from DROOPWiki, and kept text backups of all my more important changes.

For a moment, that's what I thought. But then I discovered everything was reset literally, none of the edits I made yesterday ever seem to have existed in the first place. Check the [wikipeelia=Special:Recentchanges]Recent Changes[/wikipeelia] page yourself. What happened to everything on July 7th?

Spiff farted, I bet. Resets to earlier versions happens on some servers. It's usually a backup mechanism that daily stores everything in an image. For whatever reason, someone decided to take a loop back, because something went amiss.
I can trust you, this would not happen when hosted on the Infosphere's server.

Man, you people notice this shit fast.
I'm sorry, as I've said, I didn't have time to verify my backups and shit, so it took a while. Anyway, I didn't do anything, I share this server and someone else decided to do a system update. Backups have been made of everything, so nothing is lost. I think. Some of the stuff of the past 24 hours might be gone, but I'm not sure and too lazy to check (best admin, I know).
Either way, I can restore this temporarily, but I have all the files now and I'll send it to Svip soon. If you can't set it up right away, tell me, Svip, then I'll temporarily put it back up again.
ps: Y'all butts, I get up at 7 these days and come back at like 11 at night. Bear with me, damnit.
e: So I looked at the backups my friend made and I have to extract the wiki database from the big one since I only have backup of our entire SQL database right now. That might take a while and as I'm busy, I hope you guys can wait until Sunday, at which point I'm free again and will take care of it. Again, I apologize. If the Wiki is needed like right now, I can destroy our new system and set it back to the old one, but unless I really have to, I'd like to avoid that.

Well, I am still hoping for confirmation on getting wiki.peelified.com from mArc or Slimmy. However, neither have really gotten back to me on the subject. I could technically set the wiki up in a trifle, but I am not sure where I should point it at to begin with. I might locate a temporary solution, I guess. All I need is the SQL database and the images (assuming there are images, of course). And I'll have it up and running in not time.

I have no problem with this. It should also be Marc's wiki when you think about it. Just glad things are working out. And again, Marc, if you need any help with the wiki software, you know my name; just look up the number.

Well... right now the lack of images makes MW very confused (e.g. when it tries to size them when viewing articles) and spews out errors.
The amount of pictures on the wiki (I have counted at least 737 on it) would be hard for people to replace even remotely quickly; even if they had them locally.
If restoring to a previous image and collecting the images would not be too big a deal for you, it would be very appreciated.

I was reviewing the wiki for needed updates quite a bit during the few days before it came down, and I don't recall there being that many new pictures added recently. If the previous backup wasn't made too long ago, you might be better off just restoring things from that.

Don't worry about the files themselves, Marc installed a new version of MW. He can just use the database. MW's update.php script is pretty powerful stuff.
