Forget the nominations, none of you will win anyway.   :p

What's the status of my fabulous suggestion?

I don't care how it's called as long as it's implemented like I suggested.

If not I will start throwing FazeShifts at you and everyone else. And believe me, you don't want that to happen.    :p

Fuck the PEELies. Scarecrow for least-missed PEELer? He never even made one fucking post! Someone has to have done something first before leaving to be considered missed or not-missed. And Scarecrow's name starts with a capital S, and Scarecrow is awesome. Fuck you. When I find out who wrote that and who came up with the idea of putting Scarecrow in a gay list where he doesn't belong, I swear I will grab a knife, slit their throat and slowly inject bleach into the slit. FUCKING DIE!!!

Apparently you haven't read what I proposed:
There are no nominations for this PEELie, instead the names of all PEELers that participate by sending in their votes are put in a box and then one is chosen.
And this PEELer will then get a PEELie...basicially for no raeson.  :p

Margie's just jealous for being nominated for biggest whiner and biggest attention whore. For what it's worth, I was in favour of cutting attention whore.

@Beamer: Scarecrow, least missed... er... that was nothing to do with me... I swear...

jealous of what exactly? i dunno, just seems kinda sad to me that people hold grudges over someone online for that long. besides, i can't believe that list took so long to make. i mean really, how about using some imagination? and not making it boring. without even me being there, it's all the same. best female: vf, best male: melllvar. c'mon. with respect to those people, can we be a liiiiitle more creative? instead of going 'high school' and adding 'cool' people to good categories and 'uncool' people to bad ones. i'm not even on peel that much so it doesn't really affect me but just a thought... back to me [afterall im supposed to be self-centured] out of curiosity, could you even find any posts where i whine? i was always puzzled about that. which is the whine thread? rant maybe. i don't really post there. relationships? i only post comments. hm? or maybe you could say this post is whining, weee stereotypes. margarita :
- attention whore
- whinner
and let's not forget the best one, i'm always jealous no matter what the situation is.   :p

I was hoping to get a nomination for best avitar, but alas, I did not. However, I think I stand a fair chance of being the biggest whiner... But I probably won't win

Edit: For reference, I am joking to try to enhance my whinyness...

I think the nominations are just fine. If you are getting upset because an internet community didn't nominate you for awards that just for fun. Not being nominated is the least of your problems.

i have to agree with melllvar to an extent there. it is a specially chosen committee that does the nominating and choosing of people and categories. i hope that posters here realize that this list by no means represents all of PEEL, just the opinions of those chosen to be on this "committee." for those of us who do realize this, it's just another thing meant to be shared within this "clique." for that reason, i do not agree or care about this, and abstain from voting. If this committee would like this to represent a wider population of PEEL for next year, I suggest recruiting people of different backgrounds and forums (ie. not just people from offtopic) and make allowances for write-in candidates, since as we can tell from people's complaints that this "committee" doesn't necessarily get it right all the time. alright that is all, i'm getting back to class

I know I'm new around here, but... wasn't this thread created for people to volunteer, at least nominally? yet until the noms were up, everyone was positing nominations, rather than volunteering. Just an observation.

normally the nominations that are propesed here aren't taken that seriously.
The actual nominations are made by a jury that comes together in an yahoo chatroom every year. Only they may form out the list, recieve t he mails and count the votes.

btw. Who is on the jury this year?

What Randi said is true to the bone... Much of the PEEL-oriented social stuff revolves around a number of cliques, and if you're not in one, you really have to make yourself heard (IE. not just fucking around making posts that can be boiled down to "But what about me?!" ) by posting and doing a consistent good job of it.

With that said- some people get a lot of thunder for reasons I can't get my head around, and there is one or two categories I think I have predicted the winner of, despite the fact that I don't see the justification. Or maybe I'm just 'jealous' because I'm not really in any clique  :p

Randi - I dont really agree with you.  I mean, yeah some of the catagories seem like it might be  "clique-ish," but not all of them.  There were loads of n00bs this year (more than 4 were competent), and while I am very happy and fortunate to be nominated, I really dont feel as though I am in the "clique" of the committee.  I mean, I try to be friendly to everyone, but I dont think, for me atleast, it was a feeling of "well Im going to get this nom because Im so close with the committee."

As far as write-in's go, that would be really hard because of 1) all the extra names to keep track of, and 2)everyone could technically just vote for themselves or, a random person, I dont think it would lead to a very clear winner.

I still <3 you though

The PEELies seem to have forsaken the traditional clique this year... there are some surprising nominations tucked in there as well as the usual crowd who everybody votes for because they seem to have collected their own freaky little cults...

I'm looking at you, Scarecrow.

Naah, seriously. Those people know who they are... and so do their cultists.

Pikka: Yeah, it's not right, a lot of spots get wasted as several good posters do not get the recognition they deserve.

Amy: I didn't say that every nomination corresponded to the agenda of the group. Some nominees do seem worthy of their noms, I didn't mean that I don't agree with those people; I simply do not agree with the setup of the system, and choose not to be a part of it. I wouldn't bother to understand someone's secret language that they have with their friends, so I won't try to understand this. You can't skip the title Editorial when you're reading a "news" article, if that makes sense. What I'm saying is, you should always remember the context of the situation before you delve into it, and keep in mind that it is the opinion of those who listed the noms and categories - this will never change - despite whether you claim you are a part of their "clique' or not.    :p

and how would counting write-in candidates be a huge problem? that's how it should be done anyway, people should email their noms instead of just their final votes

but i mean, it shouldn't be taken so seriously as it seems I have made it out to be. like melllvar said, it's just for fun, but just remember that because of the nature of the setup, it isn't necessarily fair to everyone. I could just as easily make my own sort of Randi PEELies and nominate whoever the hell I want, some might think it fair while others didn't. The reason why this upsets people is because I think they take it as "official" and no other alternative has been offered.

mario: i find it scary that you used the word "jury"...it's like everyone's on trial   :laff:

You are.  Randi is hereby found guilty of attempted corruption of neophytes.  The sentence is 30 days in a women's correctional facility...you know, one of those things on late-night Cinemax.

I'm reasonably sure it technically should be "15 and under," but that would take longer to write.  "Under 16" would convey the same message in the same number of keystrokes, I suppose, but that's neither here nor there.

Anyway, as I said in the test thread, very dull nominations. Not that I'm complaining because I wouldn't be nominated anyway, but they were boring to vote for!
