That's hideous. Really. If I changed my avatar to a huge animated penis, it would be more eye-pleasing than that.

For the love of God, please don't use that as an avatar. Seeing it all over the place is going to put folks off their food.

Would I be able to get one of these uploaded to custom? No matter what I do, I can't bring the size down, and I don't want to have them re-jigged by anybody who isn't me.

I include the transparant one because for some reason PEEL has a fetish about avatars having transparant backgrounds.

If the answer is no, then the answer is no, and I'll just have to accept it. I might go back to having no avatar in that case.

 http://bobby2.psd/  wouldn't get you far on the internet.  For once, this is a Photoshop file, meaning that browsers won't be able to read and show it anyhow. Make sure to save it in either *.gif, *.jpg or *.png. If it is already in the right dimensions for PEEL, *.gif is needed.

Second, make sure it is even reachable on the internet. Just putting the filename there won't do. Get it to be hosted, on Imageshack.us for example.
