Jicannon: Seconded.
Hah! I paid attention to him!  Tongue Luck's timeline is flawed.

Here's an entertaining fact for you.  Every year, each college at Rice has a theme for their freshman orientation week, otherwise known as O-Week.  Past themes have been  SuperherO Week, MafiosO Week, and Where in the World is Carmen San DiegO Week.

This year, Brown College's them is DingO Week.  Yep, the theme is Australia.  Just goes to show that even though no one else at my school is on PEEL, they seem to be aware of the awesomeness quotient of Slacky, M0le, and all you other definitely-not-kiwis.

Also, I'll miss Zed and Nurdy, can't wait till you get back   :)

It's a quiet thursday night, so why don't I take one of my many volumes of the writings of Sir Dryfop Malresh-Cracker off of the shelf, and enlighten you all with his dazzling brilliance?

"Today, babblekins, I have been jamming my thoughts into the brainspace of 'doors'. Doors are not wholly unlike walls, if walls had hinges and swung at man's wanton behest. In actual truthful fact, walls and doors could be said to actually be the same thing, if you are an advocate of splitting your infinitives and repeating yourself by duplicating the same utterance again twice over. However, Charles, if you ever were to hoff such an imagining from your word-tubes, i'd brand you as silly as a jovial vase, as walls and doors are conceptually unlike (or 'unalike', if your trapezium is malnourished and you crave vowels). A wall repels one area from another, possibly by the use of obscene language. A door, by comparison, gels two locations together in a rather cold, affectionless way, akin to a trumpet-merchant betrothing himself to a young maidenette, then only keeping in contact by whistling into a box. In brevity, therefore, to keep it short, in other words, I would recommend not tuning your trust-glands in the frequency of doors, for they are designed to decieve. Walls may not flip aboard the flashy modern trendwagon of 'movement', but they win the game of galloping reliability. Additionally, they mystery-clad your brain, as you may never croll your eyes across the side on the other side, leaving your existance expectorus of more. How delightful."

The appendix makes note that during this period the Commander was redecorating his study and may have forgotten to place the lids back on the paint tins.

That would be awesome....awesome to the max....!

I tried my best:

with 58kb it got quite big though. I'll try to reduce it some more, perhaps by going down to 15 colors, instead of the 31 it has now.

Doesn't being inside sorta defeat the whole point of Australia? I thought it was designed to show the average middle-class English family that sun, sea, sand and sub-tropical temperatures are possible in this world, but that it'd probably be best not to go because of those dreadfully odd accents. Thus, giving us hope of a better life and reaffirming our xenophobia.

English person: Let's send all our worst, most dangerous criminals and bread stealers to an entire continent filled with sand, surf, and sun while we stay here in the rain and die from the plague! That'll show 'em!

I have never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A.

I'd be surprised if there was one within a hundred miles of here.

New England is often deprived of food chains, but we have a Dunkin' Donuts literally every three feet.

I didn't even know Chick-Fil-A existed... What a strange name.

On the same note, a White Castle just opened ten minutes from JBERGES' house, which is possibly the highlight of my year.

When I first read that, I thought you meant the other type of food chain.  Y'know, deer eats grass, aardvark eats deer, wallaby eats aardvark.  It makes more sense now

Kloudes, I already posted that in the optimistic thread.  We are very sad people…

All Chick-Fil-A's are closed on Sunday.  But they do have good (albeit expensive) food.

No no, the correct term is "New Yorkers."  Not a single Chick-fil-a in the entire state.  There's at least one in Massachussetts, however.  Mmm Chick-fil-a.

Also, re: losing an attack sub: It's simple enough to lose one, just have Sean Connery captain it.

While we're on the subject of fast food (or not whatever) I went to McDonalds today for breakfast with my Mum and I got my order and she decided to get a shake....the price on the menu was $2.70 but the girl rang it up on the till as $2.90....

Mum refused to pay the 20c cos she says it's false advertising, the girl said they've just had a price change which is fair enough but I guess they haven't changed the menu prices yet....
The girl spoke to the manager who said don't worry about the 20c and we were only charged $2.70....

So that was my day....
